I think you may be mistaken, Iraq beat Jordan, not Saudi Arabia.

I'm going by articles. Those are copy and pasted quotes. I just said the Asian Cup part. You can blame the articles for the team switch up. =D

That loss really seemed to hit the French hard. Losing any match deep in the 2nd half at home like that just hurts. No two ways about it.

I think that the French are seriously under-achieving. They look very good in possession, but are having finishing problems. The Ribery/Evra partnership on the left is one of the best in international football. The French got lucky with some calls as well, but similarly to the MEX/USA match, the penalties were oversold.

It all depends on who they get paired with in the next round. The quality of teams is rather extreme at that point somewhat like the UEFA playin games.

Yeah, the African system is like a game of chicken. Putting it down to a two-game playoff for every team is going to be interesting.

Qatar lost to Iran earlier today. And Lebanon is currently leading South Korea, 1-0.

If South Korea and Iran tie on June 18th, Qatar will be eliminated.

    edit: South Korea scored. 1-1.

Turns out that South Korea goal was in the 90+7' minute

If South Korea and Iran tie, Qatar will be eliminated.

If Iran beats South Korea, Qatar will be eliminated.

If South Korea beats Iran, Qatar can advance (Iran eliminated) with a win AND with 6 more goals than Iran.
