We probably could of gotten more if we were prepared to sacrifice Birnbaum. Philly probably knew we weren't keen on dropping much lower than #2 so they had the leverage of knowing that we weren't as serious about considering the other bidders. I'm not sure Birnbaum would of still been around at #6, and I think DC was already committed to drafting the best defender available after the Jakovic sale. In the end it's still a win-win. Philly gets their guy who they obviously rate. And DC doesn't sacrifice anything ... we still get our guy and a little chunk of change.
I can see that. I liked what we got there. What actually called my attention were: (a) our approach to it; and (b) our position on the White/Parke deal.
I'm ok with 75,000 and I understand the mechanics of the trade. It was as much wishfull thinking on my part as anything else.
