I knew why he was here in KC; I hadn't heard that he'd returned to OKC.

The release on his recall said he was returning after the game against RSL

Duke always seems to do well on these loans... wonder when he might start getting some SKC minutes.

Is anyone else starting to get a little concerned about the lack of playing time for Mikey Lopez with Orlando City? So far, he only ever seems to come into games as a late substitute. If that keeps up, he will not be ready to take over for Nagamura anytime soon.

how long has he been down there now? if it's more than a month, then yeah, he needs to be getting more minutes now. if it's less or right around a month, i think that's probably a case of him still trying to get into the flow of the team. i wouldn't worry about it yet. his loan is for the whole season, right?

so Duke returned to OKC last week, but Lopez wasn't allowed to go back because of the roster freeze. Yet today the team announced Ellis is returning to OKC.

i can't believe we've sent ellis back down. he was one of the main reasons we came out of that injury/call-up mess we had during may/june in first place. what would we have done if he wasn't able to play everywhere along that backline?

Wow. I'm shocked. I figured with Vermes' post-game comments from the DC game we'd be seeing a defensive shake up, and I pretty much expected to see Ellis is one position or another against Houston.

You still might--OKC does not play their next game until a week from Thursday (09/04). Their last game is just two days later (09/06), unless they somehow manage to land in 8th place or better (currently 12th) to qualify for the playoffs.

    They're 12th, but only 1 point behind 8th.

True, but three of the four teams that are tied with or one point ahead of them have at least one game in hand; Wilmington has three (!). Both of their remaining games are on the road, and neither is against one of those four teams that they are trying to leapfrog, so they will need help.

With Orlando moving up to MLS next season, are there any plans to make Energy FC a full reserve team for Sporting KC?

No, they'll still be our affiliate, Vermes said yesterday there are no plans for KC to have a USLPro team in 2015.
