My guess is USOC matches. GG has said he wants to give his starting keeper a long run between the pipes.
Think Lampson is a bit disappointed to have lost the starting position? He did have a pretty solid run at the end of last year to make a case for the starting spot.
Williams and Anor seem dreadfully underpaid. Oduro should get an incentive package but I dont even know if that is kosher in the MLS.
The salary numbers are from last year. The union hasn't released the 2014 numbers yet. Williams has a new contract, with presumably a raise since he's a starter. Anor is on the same contract so he's probably making slightly more. Oduro got a raise on his new deal while Arrieta took a cut.
That run was injury-driven, and while he did fairly well, this is an entirely new regime, and this coach brought in this keeper. So while Lampson might be slightly disappointed, he also has to know that he is very young for a keeper in this league and it is better for him to season with some small action than to have the weight of a team on his shoulders and feel it crash around him like certain other young hyped keepers in this league...
http://www.mlsplayers.org/salary_info.html 2014 salary numbers are out. Of note (using guaranteed compensation): Anor on $49k (steal) Arrieta down to $135k Clark on $138k Francis on $153k Gonzalez on $243k Higuain on $744k Jimenez on $75k Meram on $92k Oduro up to $251k Parkhurst on $300k Tchani on $175k Trapp on $152 Viana on $141k (unused) Williams up to $125k
Looking over last year's numbers, Arrieta (90k) & Paladini (15k) had pay cuts. Higuain (140k), Oduro (129k), Williams (73k) on the biggest pay bumps.
Also: Out: Glauber (215/263), O'Rourke (170/175) and Marshall (330/361) (Total: 715/799) In: Francis (120/153), Gonzalez (176/243), Parkhurst (275/300) (Total: 571/696) Huge upgrades with 100k+ of clearance. Nice job! I'm really surprised to see Parkhurst come in so low compared to Marshall.
Oh my, umm, Seattle got Marshall to renegotiate. 270k/286k. Sucks for him cause the cost of living there is way higher than here.
Correct me if I am wrong, but since they state that the "Guaranteed compensation" includes signing bonuses amortized over the life of the contract, then the correct cap hit should always be the base salary, correct?
Dude, I'm trying to get BG13 all the way down the right side at the moment. Please refrain from participating until I am done. Thank you.
Looks good. Plenty leftover to get one more DP in here over the summer and still not be breaking the bank.
So when comparing how much the cap is, and how much space we have I should take 3.1 and subtract 2.19?
Last year I would have agreed, I think he's showing some promise this year. By the end of the season I might have a different opinion on it. Problem is you can't really keep any player who has been in this league very long for under 100k. I think Wahl is worthless and he's making 85k to ride the bench.
I don't think it's been confirmed whether base or guaranteed is what the cap is based on has it? It would be between 2.2-2.5 either way.
He's an experienced spare part. I won't complain much about his salary as long as we have that much cap space to play with. I do want to see Viana at some point, though.
