The Dash have signed four trialists including three undrafted from college, Lindsay Elston, Holly Hein, and Dominique Richardson. The fourth is an int'l trialist. Combined with those 5 listed previously, that brings total of 8 players undrafted from college. So a total of 34 players just out of college on rosters.
It was a STRONG draft this year. The deepest draft ever. The 2010 WPS draft was the best ever draft, if you're only talking first round comparison. That draft was so STACKED in the first round, that no other draft could compare at the top of the draft. But when you factor in all 4 rounds, no draft was deeper than the 2014 NWSL Draft.
I'm willing to bet 2015 will be even better then 2014. The midfielders, defenders, outbacks especially and goal keepers are much deeper in that draft year then this year.
Possibly. But the 2014 draft (first round) is still better than the 2015 draft (first round) at the top of the draft. Crystal Dunn, Kealia Ohai, Julie Johnston, Vanessa DiBernardo, Maya Hayes, Kassey Kallman, etc, were the horses of that U20 WWC championship team in 2012.
Found this looking for something else- Why WNY did not have Iacchelli on their final roster: http://the11.ca/2014/04/09/after-iacchelli-fails-physical-canada-loses-another-nwsl-allocation/
