Splitting this into it's own, so it doesn't get lost elsewhere.

    Preseason: 7
    Week 1: 13

Article says week 5, but it's only week 4 (April Fools, or editor blunder?)

After predicting that the Revs would lose to Kansas City, Toronto and Seattle, I might as well predict that they'll drop five places in the power rankings.

It's going to be hard to move up in the standing this week despite mashing Seattle since KC and RSL also had big wins. My guess we stay at #4

I watched the 2nd half of RSL and it was very bizarre. They looked bad and slow even though they scored 5 and should have probably scored more (Javier Morales & Inigo Montoya 2 vs 1 on the keeper... no goal).

But KC was playing the Expos, who were down a man from the 15th minute. The Revs' win looks a ton more impressive, and I think we'll see some movement for them.

Seattle will drop, but will they drop below us? I'm not sure we'll bump up too much.

Frankly, I don't give two shits about the "power rankings" thrown together throughout the season. They're all little more than column-filler compiled by self-styled pundits. The only "power ranking" I'm concerned about is the one that's settled on the pitch during the MLS Cup final. Here's hoping that the New England Revolution are ranked #1 after that match!

That said, in my opinion, this weekend's rout of the Sounders is the best effort - and result - put forth by the Revolution in at least six seasons. It almost - almost - succeeds in erasing the taint of the Joe Public debacle.

    Well-played and well-coached, men!

Thats a reasonable bump. This team has a long way to go before we can claim we are #1 as asserted by Jeff C.
Our schedule over the next few weeks offers us the opportunity to move up further if Heaps can keep the troops from reading their press clippings.

Not sure how they can suggest Neumann is a "baller" until he does something to deserve that moniker. Haven't seen first round quality yet.

His long pass to Tierney that let to the pk in Toronto was Bunbury-esque.

They might bump us up to #1 but it's hard to say RSL with last nights tie but undefeated on the season isn't the top team in the League. But then I guess these ranking have to do with a teams "form" and it's hard to say the Revs aren't HOT. I know these Power Rankings don't mean much but after three years of hanging out with the bottom feeders it's fun to contemplate

Since it kinda fits here ... Revs currently 3rd in the SS race on a PPG basis.
