So we've gone the opposite direction. We now have a creative midfield, but no offense and a swiss cheese defense.
Anemic offense, porous defense - can't wait to hear Hack's glass-half-full quotes on this crap performance. Passing to teammates (0%) or opponents (100%)?
When has Lahoud EVER looked like a pro player? Also - 4 minutes?! That was an MLS decision - not that we were trying anyway.
Effort by Noguiera, but not much from anyone else it seems. Horrible cross into the side netting by Ray. Actually glad this was on a Wednesday, if I had to see that on a Saturday I'd be pissed
I said it earlier this season. NY, DC, and the Revs are all going to start picking it up after slow starts, better get our points now..... well look at this, here we are behind DC and NER, tied with NY, and right above Houston who has game in hand while playing us on short rest in four days... I have zero hope for this team.
so I've had about all I can take, and am seriously considering swtching allegiances to an MLS side with greater upside for my entertainment $........ Like Chivas. U should thank their neighbors north. Very nice of them to lend a hand when Philly sucks ass yet again @ RBA. Keeps their non-clean sheet run intact. Henry is a punk. Ratings given tonight under self-protest. ***: LeToux-did the only positive thing I can quantify. **: Nobody-they all gargled hairy goat balls. * (MOTM): Hackworth. Because he's the most responsible party for the mierda I'm watching game after game. The stench is really starting to get on my nerves.................
They should either cancel press, or just be honest and say we sucked and should be embarrassed. Because "Gotta play better next week," "Cannot get behind first," "We need to finish." is all getting old for the last 5 weeks after the Columbus game (after the PTFC game honestly).
Ya know what they should really do? Admit they're carrying a lot of dross, cut them all and use the funds to buy real players at positions of real need.
Once NY scored they had no idea what to do. Looking at the schedule - they now have no chance of turning this around before the WC. Damn. Gonna be a long Summer.
I guess I wouldn't feel so bad about the Union scuffling a bit to start the season if the problem was that the new guys were having trouble getting acclimated. But really, they've all been good (Maidana) to excellent (Noguiera, Edu). And for as much as people on here have been on Carroll, he's been fine too. MacMath has been better, LeToux and Okugo have been roughly at their average level. The lack of cohesion and understanding in the back is brutal. I don't blame Wheeler--he's not a CB, and that's not his fault. Relying on Okugo to hold it all together is asking a lot of him, as he's the leader of the backline for the very first time in his career while still learning the position. You can get away with that if you have a gamebreaking attacking player and/or a clinical goalscorer, but we don't have one of those guys. Whether you think we used to or not is a different thing...it's just looking like we don't have one now, or at least not one we can rely on. Anyway, it's frustrating. I don't buy that they've just been unlucky either. Portland, Chicago, RSL--those games could have all been losses.
I'd like to see anyone defend the sub strategy tonight. Maidana looked like the most dangerous player we had, even if he drifts in and out of the game. Wenger was doing ok and is probably our best finisher now, with Casey in a slump. Leo, I could see. But all 3 who came in were busts and lowered the chances of us scoring. You don't HAVE to use subs, why not keep your best guys on the field to salvage the game.
Hack's glass half full press conference quote: "We scored while playing with a man advantage for a change".
Had to follow the game on a twitter feed....I could not believe with two goals down, Hack subbed off Wenger, Maidana and Fernandez??? He brought on a defensive mid and Hoppenot?? He's having a laugh surely!!
