Those first year white with wasabi green are very rare. They never sold them so any you see were given away by players or the team. Kind of odd that even when they were the Burn they had a lot of horizontal stripe kits. Looks like they are adding another horizontal stripe look this year with the bar scanner look. Kind of wish they had a black and red stripe or red and blue stripe as a third jersey.
You're correct. For a year or two Nike was pushing white everywhere (I guess they still are with the new US jersey). Funny thing is the team played better in red so they switched back. That long sleeve red is still a favorite of mine as is the black third jersey. Don't know how when they were league owned they were able to have more third jerseys than now.
I like the 2005 gray, and 2006 grey a bit less...but both are better than the blue or red hoops. I too liked the wasabi green splash back in the day, it was a nice unique color. I would also say that the comps people on here have done over the years are always way better than what we get, which is cool. I remember someone doing one back in the CAP days that was really cool.
The above had a cool look, but if you ever put one on it had the unfortunate tendency to rub your nips raw. You'd have to wait a full week for the skin to grow back before you could wear it again. Mine still holds up great after all the years and it is silky smooth to the touch.
I was expecting more people coming out in favour of the hoops on here. It was a distinct colour/design combo in club football.
To be honest, it seems to me that most of the love for this uniform has come from other teams' fans, but it seem to me that most of those fans would not be in favor of seeing their team wear it, ESPECIALLY if their team previously had a perfectly acceptable uniform.
