I remember reading it as July 23rd too. Of course, I can't find the link now, but I think I saw 7/23 on the Roma Facebook page.

By August 23rd, Liverpool's PL season will have started, and Serie A would be very close.

my eyes were playing tricks on me. i thought i saw 23 Agosto and got excited when i saw that it was on a Saturday, meaning i'd be able to go

23 August is too close to the start of the season. 23 July makes more sense. we'd be in the US already since we're on our Guinness Cup tour. that's a grueling congestion of fixtures though for preseason. i hope no one gets injured

    23 July Liverpool @Boston
    2 days rest
    26 July United @Denver
    3 days rest
    30 July Madrid @Dallas
    2 days rest
    2 Aug Inter @Phila
    1 day rest
    4 Aug Possible Final @miami

it's also likely we won't be seeing any World Cup stars in the tournament since they'll be rested: Castan, Torosidis Maicon, DDR, Nainggolan, Pjanic, Florenzi, Gervinho, Destro

we'll probably see: DeSanctis/Skorupski/Lobont, Jedvaj, Benatia <3, Romagnoli, Balzaretti, Taddei, Ricci, Caprari, Ljajic, Dodo, Totti. Toloi/Bastos if they're still with us, and whatever new signings we've made and some fringe players back from loan or the primavera like Berisha, Di Mariano, Jose Angel, Crescenzi, Borriello, etc.

Where is everyone sitting for the Inter game in Philly? I still haven't gotten my seats yet.

The Philly game is going to be very empty. There are still front row seats in the supporter's section still available.

Castan isn't an option for Brazil. Scolari has never called him up.

There must be a good reason as to why they didn't choose red bull

Scolari has to have Castan in mind at least, he's been playing in one of Europe's best defencee. His partnership with Benatia is arguably the strongest defensive partnership in football today. I'd be surprised if he isn't being considered for the squad.

There is Marquinhos, who you are familiar with, Dedé (highly sought player by European clubs), Henrique (Napoli), Rever (Atletico MG) and Miranda (Atletico Madrid).

Brazil is already set with 3 CBs (Silva, Luiz and Dante), so there's only one spot left.

If it ain't broke...Castan may be having a solid year, but the Brazil CB's are probably as strong as they've been since I've been watching football. Castan might have to get a few voodoo dolls and start stomping to get a look.

Damn Brasil is stacked at CB. Though I would argue Castan is better in defence than Dante though he isn't as mobile as Miranda or Marcos. Henrique has never impressed me, I wasn't even aware he was a CB he always seems lost when I've seen him. Unfortunately I don't know anything on Rever.

I think with Castan you get a no nonsense defender. He's a big powerful unit who uses his size in defence and attack. He's also capable of defending out wide and strong driving the ball forward. However agreeingly I can't see him displacing either Silva or Luiz despite injury or suspensions.

Castan is better than Luiz and Henrique, and maybe better than Miranda. i find it hard to imagine us keeping such a strong defensive record with any other player. i admit i'm biased but the statistical website thou shall not name only lists 3 Brazilian centerbacks who have a higher avg rating than Castan: Naldo, T.Silva, and Dante

from what i've seen, Castan covers well and plays the ball well out from the back. he remains composed and he's not afraid to be aggressive. he also hasn't scored any goals, which is why his rating isn't inflated like Dante, Silva, and Naldo. Roma is one the best defensive teams in the world this season

I think Castan should make the Brazil squad. He was on the top defense with Corinthians before he left and now he is in the top defense in Italy. He is just a solid player. However, he isn't a flashy player or a flashy personality and like it or not that seems to matter to the Brazil coach and Brazil fans.

i wouldn't say Miranda is particularly flashy as well

i think it's because Roma aren't playing in CL/EL and Castan is being overlooked because of that. which is harsh considering Dede/Rever are being called up (no offense to the Brasilerao)

Jet got an email regarding the fan pack. It comes with a Roma scarf and a lanyard. No mention of a practice session.

They, along with your ticket, will be shipped on June 1.
