I was on the bus commuting to work and it was 0-0 first half. I was nervous that we would lose for some reason. Then, I found out Japan pwned Tajikistan. That got me even more worried for us. And then, as soon as I got to my workplace, I turn on my computer and find out it's 2-1. Gotta replay the whole match when I get back home cause it's supposed to be 2-0?
Utterly pathetic we called up Li Dong Guo. I liken it to when Iran was calling up Ali Daie in 2006 when the dude was like 40.
Lebanon 1 - 0 Kuwait atm. Realistically, I think it's irrelevant how the other teams in our group does against each other, but it would be more practical (for us) if Kuwait were to win today. That way, even if we were to lose to Lebanon on 11/15, we would still maintain the top 2 position.
If that happens, we don't deserve to go at all. Let's hpoe it stays even or Lebanon wins so that we're far more likely to win the group even with another dud like Kuwait.
Lee Dong Guk* edit: I feel LDG made some nice passes & linked up well. Seo was the standout for me though.
Seo Jungjin continues to impress. Nice bit of skill to trap the ball and change directions, to give himself the space to put in that through ball. Nice vision on the pass. Spun the defender around.
New boy SJJ taking the bull by the horns and making a name for himself. Squad numbers don't seem to mean much, isn't that KBK's #7?
So... a few things I noticed. 1. Either Park needs to be better on the wings (for both KNT and Arsenal) or CGR needs to stop putting him there. He was so much better in the middle. 2. Choi Hyo Jin and Kim Young Kwon were terrible. None of them crossed well and had trouble defending. KYK should not be playing as an attacking fullback. He's just not capable of it. I'd rather give Kim Dong Jin another shot. 3. What's going on with KJC? He was terrible today. He wasn't moving well, passing well, etc etc. What happened to the KJC from the Asian Cup? Its not just his condition, it was also his movement and positioning. 4. SJJ is impressive. Very direct... very refreshing. Although, idk if he'd do well against quality opponents. 5. KSY is the man... very good at keeping and distributing. Now only if he could pair with a legit DM. I know I'm gonna get shit for this... but I'd try giving players like Shin Hyung Min a chance if CGR is not going to pair KSY with KJC as the double volante. 6. LJS seems slower, as others mentioned.... very troubling. 7. I'm starting to gain a lot of confidence in JSR. His decision making is noticeably better. Its nice to see him finally bring his club form for the national team. the end.
anyone else think that nth would make a great dm? i suggested this before, and the idea was shot down (with some justification since playing as a dm would under-utilize his dribbling and shooting abilities). on the other hand, nam is the only guy i've seen who can physically impose himself in the midfield - keep possession, win balls, etc. plus, we have quite a bit of depth in attacking positions anyway. as an aside, does anyone have an opinion on hjh's performance today?
