So, I've been thinking about this for a while. Most of you know I did the "Worldwide prediction league" before, so I have experience running these kinds of leagues. THE RULES ~Order of draft So, basically, we would need at least 12 teams (players) in order to get a good amount of games in. We will do a snake draft, and we will create 18 man squads. Example of a snake draft: Round 1 1) Bosnian Diamond 2) bosna10 3) SarajevskoPivo 4) DadoIsNumeroUno Round 2 1) DadoIsNumeroUno 2) SarajevskoPivo 3) bosna10 4) Bosnian Diamond etc. ~Who to draft This way, it will be fair for everyone when drafting. Also, you may only draft players who are participating in the World Cup. So sorry, no Zlatan. You must draft at least 2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders, and 3 forwards, for a total of 15 players. What position the rest of your players are is up to you. ~What the matchups will be You'll face someone in a 1v1 matchup, so for example: Gameday 1: Bosnian Diamond vs bosna 10 SarajevskoPivo vs DadoIsNumeroUno Gameday 2: Bosnian Diamond vs. SarajevskoPivo bosna 10 vs DadoIsNumeroUno Teams will be separated into groups of four. This will be done because we'll follow the format of the real World Cup, so the top two teams go to the knockout rounds etc. ~How to win a match So, since we are drafting World Cup players, we will gain points based off their performances. So, these are ways to gain points (points gained is based on position, so if a GK scores a PK, it's worth more than a PK scored by a forward, etc.): GK: Penalty kick scored - 10 points Cleansheet - 5 points One goals conceded - 3 points DEF: Penalty kick scored - 7 points Cleansheet - 3 points One goal conceded - 1 point MID: Goal scored: 5 points Penalty kick scored: 4 points Assist: 3 points FOR: Assist: 5 points Goal Scored: 4 points Penalty kick scored: 3 points One condition though: you can't gain points off of players on your bench (if a player you started is benched in real life, you can switch them out for a palyer on your bench up until the kickoff of that paler's game). So, here's an example of me posting my eleven a day before matchday one fo the WC: Begovic David Luiz, Spahic, Pepe Xabi Alonso Pjanic, Xavi, Hazard Falcao, Ronaldo Bench: Kompany, Ribery, Lahm, Neuer, Essien But I find out David Luiz is benched for their game against Algeria, so an hour before the match (it can be anytime, not specifically an hour) I change my lineup: Begovic KOMPANY, Spahic, Pepe Xabi Alonso Pjanic, Xavi, Hazard Falcao, Ronaldo So, since Kompany was listed on my bench, I could sub him into my lineup since I knew David Luiz wouldn't get playing time, thus not earning me points. Can't participate, it's too much. No offense but look at the other prediction league. Its as simple as can be and doesn't take too much time yet the participation rate is still pretty bad.

This. Also, there's enough time to do this draft a month or so before(i've done it)...BD, I'd ask people about this in April/May when everyone is more sure on what they'll be doing around that time.
But i've been a part of leagues with drafts like this one and the draft has taken a SUPER long time. People dropped out. This one we can finish before the World Cup starts and no one will be rushed to pick, so they'll stay in.
Well, i guess whoever joins will be super into it (people either like the idea or don't), so they'll participate consistently, I hope. Np though if you don't wanna play.
