H.I.S.D.'s Robert E. Lee Boys Varsity Association Football team became the very first H.I.S.D. team to win the Region III title and advance to the State Final Four this weekend! It has been a very long time coming for inner city Houston to send a team to State and I am so proud it is my ol' Generals from Richmond n' Hillcroft! DALE LEE!!!
Man I remember the homecoming games they would lose to them gringos from Bellaire... But we got them back cause our wrestling team would whoop them up.

What are yalls thoughts on getting a deal on walk up tickets for the Rockets playoffs? Maybe 2nd quarter discount or something or are they as hot as ever?
If they advance to the 2nd round, I'm planning on going to a road trip at either San Antonio or Dallas.
I figured they were sold out, but I didnt know if people know if it is likely to see scalpers trying to dump tickets late.
T-Mac was the T-Ball, ahem, coach of one of the team's in my youngest son's T-ball league last Spring. I was the coach for my son's team so I got to go head to head with T-Mac. I was actually very impressed with T-Mac's handling of the lil' ones on his son's team, which if one has raised kids is often like herding chicken, and T-Mac's knowledge/passion of baseball. So hats off to him for making the cross over to pro baseball!
go to flashseats.com but check in a couple hours. i sold my tickets for 2-3x face value and ill attempt to buy tickets later on for half that price. profit.
This is interesting, the NYT did a survey of favorite baseball team by zip code. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/04/23/upshot/24-upshot-baseball.html http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...book-baseball-map.html?_r=0#5,31.785,-110.312 I think this is the result of McLane's running the team into the ground and Crane's refusal to get any tv deal done or have any desire to compete in the next several years. Or could be that people outside Houston, just don't like Houston, like the guy I was talking to while I was working down near Aransas Pass this week. He asked where I was from and I told him Houston, then I said that I actually work about a mile from where I was born, so then he asked 'So you are really from Houston?', I replied 'Yes'......his reply 'I'm sorry'. Turns out he was from Corpus.
The Rockets offense can be fun to watch and all, but I'm not sure it can win in the playoffs. When you have a lead in the 4th quarter, why are you sprinting down the court to put up a bad 3 pointer? Slowing it down apparently means Harden dribbling until there's 4 seconds on the shot clock then putting up a bad shot. And Jeremy Lin last night. You can take a time out when three people are trying to slap the ball away from you.
Les Alexander just wins championships!!! That's all we ever about his team, he's a winner. What is that, 1 series win in 17 years?
That guy is a monster-I remember him when I was living up there. They said he was too small to play on the line. But then he became a beast. Still a little undersized IIRC.
Damn. That last shot from Portland feels more worse than John Stockton did with the Utah Jazz in 1997 or '98. There's going to be a lot of kneejerk reactions in the Clutchfans website.
I'm so pissed I can't sleep. McHale needs to go man we need a coach who can make this team play some defense. I feel for Dwight dude showed up this series I can't blame him for those missed FT's it was bound to happen. I do blame the fact that Beverley was in the fourth quarter at all he had a terrible night.
Sadly had that 3 counted we would have been talking about a game 7. Lin actually held Lillard in check in the 4th his only points came in the end after Lin was subbed out for Jones. Why was Jones subbed in I'll never understand, Blazers weren't going for the tie with that much time left, also Harden was supposed to switch instead now we have the image of Parsons trying to catch Lillard.
