There's only one (NBA) team in Texas!!!!! Also, congrats to James Harden and Dwight Howard on being selected to the All-Star game.
Supposedly there may be around 15-18k tickets left for the Superbowl. I guess Jersey isn't the most popular destination.
Unless you are a Seahawks fan, the Superbowl was a fricking disaster. What a crappy game, bad half-time show, and the ads were a let down too. It had the potential to be a classic, but it looked like the Broncos did not even prepare for it.
I think NJ in winter combined with two smaller market teams, with smaller fan bases+crazy prices=tickets being available later than ususal I didn't think Bruno was bad, in fact he was rather entertaining (no glowing dancers, etc-just him performing) but I didn't get the RHCP thing-the way it was billed I thought they were doing a split set. I was in out of the room but I only heard them do Give it Away.
interview with the Fort Worth NPSL coach... http://soccerblog.dallasnews.com/20...new-npsl-team-mark-snell.html/?nclick_check=1
February 11, 2014 The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that the 2014 regular season schedules for the South Central Conference, Great Lakes West Conference, Great Lakes East Conference, and the Southeast Conference have been released. Schedules are now available on the league/team websites and social media accounts. The South Central Conference will be divided into North and South Divisions, with four teams in each division. Each team will play the other three teams twice, once home and once away, and the four teams in the other division once, two home and two away, randomly selected. The North Division will include Tulsa Athletics (Tulsa, OK), Oklahoma City FC (Oklahoma City, OK), Joplin Demize (Joplin, MO), and Liverpool Warriors (The Colony, TX). The South Division will include Dallas City FC (Dallas, TX), Fort Worth (Fort Worth, TX), Corinthians FC of San Antonio (San Antonio, TX), and BCS Clash (Bryan-College Station, TX). "The addition of six new teams should add much-needed competition and depth to the South Central Conference," Tulsa Athletics owner Sonny Dalesandro stated. Fans and supporters will get their first glimpse of the new-look South Central Conference when the Tulsa Athletics host a preseason tournament called the Red River Cup between Tulsa, Oklahoma City FC, Liverpool Warriors, and Fort Worth to be held on May 2-3. The top two teams from each division with the most points will advance to the South Central Conference playoffs, with the first place team in the North playing the second place team in the South and the first place team in the South playing the second place team in the North. The winner of those two games will play for the South Central Conference Championship. Playoff dates for the South Central Conference will be Friday, July 11 with the final on Sunday, July 13.
It looks like there are not any teams from the Houston area in the NPSL. They have all joined a new league called TPSL.
Man, this Texans offseason is like the Dynamo offseason. I guess they have to rely on the NFL Draft next month.
Texas should have the World Cup... http://www.mlssoccer.com/sideline/n...r-gets-host-world-cup-then-why-shouldnt-texas
As much as I love Texas and I do love Texas - I would not enjoy a World Cup here as much as I would in the NorthEast/northern USA - Imagine a game in Philadelphia then you get on the train and travel to DC - to Baltimore to NYC to Pittsburgh- Cincinnati - Chicago - Boston - Cleveland - Indianapolis just to name a few. Now I also think at least one game should be in Houston of course. Cool evenings - all closer or same distance than the traveling to El Paso from Houston. Just my opinion who cares.
That was what made Germany '06 so great. You could watch a game or go to FanFest, party afterwards, then catch an overnight train across the country to do it all over again. Just make sure you actually sleep on the train and not fall into the bar car trap....
