Ill do my best. I think he already has the fans support and hearts. It's not like playing at Freiburg as 3rd choice.
It is Hoffenheim. But Dietmar Hopp is the SAP bilionaire who thought it would be a great idea to put up a Buli team in the middle of nowhere.
There's a fun primer here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/fabian-johnson-87-hoffenheim.156898/page-50
Hoppenheim, Pauli and FSV Frankfurt this month. Last two are in Turkey. Appears Osako had a meeting with the club leaders briefly at his hotel but retired early. A report from the hotel said that he, Funkel and team captain Vallori met briefly. Nothing on what was said...they were away from most people at that time.
Hopefully the 1860 pay TV stream will come back next season and you can sign up online to watch on demand.
A Japanese journalist with some affinity for 60 introduces the club and shares some amusing anecdotes. http://bylines.news.yahoo.co.jp/sugiyamatakashi/20140106-00031307/
http://www.nikkansports.com/soccer/news/p-sc-tp1-20140107-1240586.html Osako basically taking the opposite approach: "If you don't challenge yourself, you don't grow. The World Cup is coming, I thought that placing myself in an harder environment would help me to grow" Final fee seems to be around 500 000€, should play alone forward in 1860.
If Kagawa can do it, i expect Osako to do the same too. Wages are very important, Honda got a pay rise moving to Milan. And i am talking about a hypotetical situation whereby HE DOES NOT get any offers from 1ST DIVISON clubs from the top 5 leagues.
lol Random coincidence, but I just found out that Bobby Wood is half Japanese. Maybe Osako can bring him some anime.
He's young and in a foreign land. I am sure he's finding it tough to acclimate. He'll settle down soon.
It's up to him. München has a very large and accepting Japanese community. Across Germany there are also many Japanese. The 1860 fans will welcome him for sure. Food-wise he can get nearly everything he can get in Japan...probably cheaper. The weather may be an issue but looking at Kashima's current weather it seems similar to München. So unless he's got Donovan Syndrome he should have everything he needs to make himself feel at home. (Donovan Syndrome is named after US footballer Landon Donovan. It is characterized by the inability to spend long amounts of time away from one's home country - despite being compensated well for it - due to an umbilical chord which was never severed at birth).
