I just wanted to say that signing Ramos doesn't mean they don't look at other players too. And if Ramos would be their Königstransfer for the lone FW position, then it's much more likely that they go for a lower profile player (as his back-up). Volland on the other hand isn't a natural centre FW and getting him doesn't exclude signings on other positions.

Just speculation anyway re: Osako and rather answering Keren, but as I wrote before, I believe it's not Ramos OR Osako in BVB's case.

I was wondering why the forum said I was tagged in this post... :)

In any case, nothing to contribute here, unless you want to talk about Hosogai.

PS - 1860 - my condolences for having to have had Funkel for a coach.

Well, if I were to guess he'd be sitting in the away supporters' section to cheer for a certain AM against the other Munich club. More like proof he's a dyed-in-the-wool Sechziger :p

Can't he sneak into the stadium with his 1860 creds claiming he forgot his cell phone or something?

To me this appeared to bet more like high treason otaku-hood by him.

Btw. Blaue24 has him "leaving with almost certainty". Buy-out clause 1.6 mil €.

    ah come on...

He wanted to see Kagawa's match which is a CL one. When you see him wearing a Bayern scarf then...

Some 1860 overreact to simple things. A few years ago they boycotted the buying of the home kit because it had red lettering.

The replacement coach is doing the best he can to demonstrate he's not the guy we need for next season. ;)

To be honest, in the BL the most dangerous teams to play during the spring are those teams in relegation danger. Dresden is not as weak as their table position indicates. 1860 has clearly given up and they are paying the price tonight.

Assist for Osako, nearly scored but now it's an assist.

1860 is in the game now, very strong...almost scored again after the 3-1. They attack like hell the last 5 minutes. The game isn`t over yet. When Munich continue like this the can draw or win this

    aaah now... got it!

the plan is to downgrade Juuja's play as much as possible in order to keep him. I love when a plan comes together!

It feels more like a demonstration that a change of managers without a real reason (more importantly, without having a replacement ready) could prove disastrous.

Huh? We're clearly better than last week! We only lose by 2 goals. Change of coach worked.

Well I liked what I saw when I watched part of the first half between the 0-3 to 1-4, but it's still Dresden's first win in 14 games if I counted correctly.

Funkel had 8 months to unlearn them how to play soccer. You cant expect any coach to repair the damage within one week.

    That's not entirely fair.

Funkel had to undo the anti-football Schmidt had the team playing.

Funkel implemented the 4-1-4-1 which was working VERY well until he switched to accomodate the new arrivals. Frankly, I would have stuck with the 4-1-4-1.

Not renewing Funkel's contract was the right decision. Firing him was not. Sure, he seemed to stop caring but MvA is no better than Schmidt IHMO, so we are back as square #1.

In MvA's defense, Vallori and Kiraly were shit today and the back line could not mark a player if they were hand-cuffed to them. Dresden wanted it more and they got it. We came for a "Sommerkick" and Dresden came to fight. They won.

That's what I meant in the first place. The club doesn't seem to count on von Ahlen as Funkel's successor, so why sack Funkel 5 weeks prior to contract termination?
