Nice. I normally don't care about youth competition at this level, but since the two Barcelona boys are playing I'll be more inclined to keep up with it.

Thailand is host country and a pretty difficult team to face in Under age competitions. But we should get out of the group. The problem is always after that....
It doesnt matter whether you care or not lol. The fact is we havent made the U-17 WC's of the last two previous WC's and we almost didnt make the Championships this year. Thailand with massive home support is always dangerous, especially in under age competition. But as I said, the problem is when we go past the group stage. One match - lose and we are out. I still get so disappointments thinking about last edition where we looked like the best team by miles, actually had last group match with all starters rested - and then lose on penalties to go out.
i meant to say that even though the thais u17 has massive support and even though we didnt perform in this competition in the past. we should be cruising through this group stage.
Considering these guys lost to Malaysia in the qualifiers for this, and the U-20 guys earlier losing to Indonesia, etc. (both in SE Asia btw), I'm certainly not about to take Thailand for granted at their home, or Malaysia for that matter (remember that we lost to them in qualifiers). Really hoping to see these guys stepping up their game this time around.
Not to mention that even our 2007 AC squad only managed to net 1 goal vs Indonesia to get out of the group, although hat Indonesian GK was on his game that night.
Thailand youth soccer teams are usually more competitive than their senior team. Cannot take them lightly. Attended an international youth tournament in Bangkok in Dec. 2012 and there were some really good teams from Thailand in the U12 to U16 divisions.
Choi Jin-cheol plans to use Lee Seung-woo uptop - Lee Hyung-gyung suddenly grew in past year (now 195cm ) and needs time to find his body balance. He plans on using 4-2-3-1 and 4-1-4-1 during the Montaigu tournament. My guess is ... Lee Seung Woo Jang Gyeol Hee ... Yook Geun Hyuk ... Kim Ho Not really fascinated by the Choi Jin-cheol appointment as of now. Hopefully he can surprise me not - so much in the Montaigu cup - but during the AFC U-16 tournament.
F:그 동안 U-16 대표팀은 부진했다. 2회 연속 FIFA U-17 월드컵 본선에 진출하지 못했다. 현재 U-16 대표 선수들은 13~14세 때부터 코치로 따라다니면서 파악해왔다. 어려운 점이라면 이 나이대 선수들이 한국 축구의 구조상 굉장히 취약하다. 중학교에서 고등학교로 올라가는 나이인데, 고등학교는 주말리그를 시행 중이다. 한국 고교 축구는 2~3학년이 주전 선수로 뛰기 때문에 1학년 뛰는 데 우리 나라 고등학교는 2-3학년 위주로 뛰기에 1학년에 해당하는 16세 이하 선수들은 체력적으로나 경기 감각면에서 굉장히 떨어지게 된다. 그래서 각 팀 감독들에게 실전 같은 훈련을 부탁하고 있다. 대표팀 소집이 끝나면 개인 과제도 내줘서 체력적인 부분이나 근력 부분에 대한 보강을 실시하고 있다. 전술과 기술 모두 체력이 뒷받침되어야 할 수 있다. 지난 두 번의 U-17 월드컵 본선에 나서지 못한 이유에는 이런 이유도 있다고 본다. 국내 유소년 축구도 중등부와 고등북 아닌 연령별 리그가 생기면 더없이 좋겠지만 아직까진 이루어지지 않았으니 최대한 이 여건에 맞춰서 준비해야 한다. 다행이 이번 프랑스 초청 대회와 6월 소집 훈련, 멕시코 초청 친선 대회에 참가할 예정이기에 이 기간에 조직력을 맞추고 경기력을 끌어올릴 생각이다. 여기에 맞춰서 준비해야 한다. F: 유소년 축구 단계에선 성적보다 육성이 더 중요할 것 같다. 두 가지 목적을 다 가지고 가야한다. U-16 대표팀은 지난 두 번의 월드컵 진출에 실패했기에 결과도 무시할 수 없다. 결과와 육성의 두 마리 토끼를 어떻게 잡느냐를 고민하고 있다. 선수들이 프랑스에 가서 유럽 선수들과 경쟁 통해서 몸으로 느끼고 머리로 생각할 수 있다면 충분히 좋은 경험이 될 것이다. 8월에는 멕시코 초청대회가 있기에 두 번의 대회 치르고 나면 아시아에서는 경쟁력 있는 팀 될 수 있다고 본다. 9일에는 연령대가 높은 숭실대학교 1~2학년생 선수들과 연습 경기로 유럽 팀과의 대결에 대비할 계획이다. F: 감독 최진철은 어떤 축구를 구사할 예정인가? 수비출신이지만 수비적인 축구는 하고 싶지 않다. 공격적인 축구를 시도할 것이다. 하지만 수비를 소홀히 해선 안된다. 수비시에는 현대 축구의 트렌드가 그렇듯 11명 전원이 가세해야 한다. 패스를 통해서 템포있는 축구를 하고 싶다. http://sports.media.daum.net/sports/soccer/newsview?newsId=20140409065704268
