Compiling a U20 twitter feed for the tournament. Please let me know if any of the following players have accounts: Miller, O'Neill, Torre, Joya, Serna, Kiesewetter, Rodriguez
Which is entirely possible. For those of you who have followed this U20 team, how effective are they at quick combination play through the middle or wings? That, IMO, will determine the success of the team due to the formation Ramos wants to play. If it's too one dimensional, teams like Haiti won't have too much trouble stifling the US. There's gotta be some variation with the attacking volume. Shame about Pelosi, I liked what I saw from him in the 2011 WC.
I do wanna point out that, for the most part, we did a solid job on this thread of avoiding "overhyping" these guys like we did with the 2011 U-20s or the 2012 U-23s. I think most YNT followers learned from those debacles. I know I did.
Really hard to say as us soccer has pretty much kept them a classified secret. The scouting reports and little highlights we have had seem to indicate the strength of the team in on the wings and in the central midfield axis. The results in friendlies have been middling to be kind. Of course it's hard to know without actually seeing the games how much to draw from the results.
