So the schedule is released, what games are people looking at to travel for? Of course the SOB will be doing a DC and NYRB trip, but I say we all try to get as many travel games as possible, even if independently done. Away games: 3/9 v Colorado - Saturday 3/30 NYRB - Saturday 4/6 Columbus- Saturday 4/21 DC - Sunday 4/27 NE -- Saturday 5/11 Chicago- Saturday 5/25 Montreal- Saturday 6/1 Toronto- Saturday 7/3 Real Salt Lake 7/6 Houston- Wednesday 7/27 Vancouver- Saturday 8/17 NYRB- Saturday 8/25 NE - Sunday 9/8 San Jose - Sunday 9/27 Sporting KC - Sunday 10/12 DC- Saturday 10/19 Montreal- Saturday
I've done DC, NY, Toronto and Montreal in the past few years, so I'm 100% trying to make a New England game this year as my #1 priority....... for those who have done it in the past, whats the easiest way from Boston out to Foxboro? Is driving the only option?
Yeah the NYRB and DC games are a must with the group, however I want to head to a few other places. Houston? Montreal? possibly Chicago
I highly recommend Montreal to anyone who didn't go last year.... I'd Montreal games will get a lot of group interest as well.
Looking hard at a New England weekend in August, Chicago in May and Vancouver as my top 3 trips this year.
I was originally planning on going to the Colorado match, but now that the entire schedule has been released, I think I'm going to change my plans. RSL & Houston.
From the looks on tv it looked like they had between 15-20 people. Decent showing considering. I am aiming for toronto. 7 hour drive, get a few friends, even if they dont like soccer but want to travel. Hotels don't look too too bad. $280 for 2 nights for a double queen bedded room.
Just booked my flight for the Toronto game. Heads up to anyone thinking about going and lives in the Northern Burbs...there is a sale going on until midnight tonight where you can get a nonstop flight out of Newark EWR for $237 including all taxes and fees on Porter Airlines if you book it through Priceline. After midnight it will go up to $330-$350 or so a ticket. Porter allows you to check one free bag, too, so compared to everyone else, its effectively a $212 ticket including all taxes. Plus Porter Ailines is an all-business class airline. Leather seats and free beer/champagne for everyone on board. So I figure that if I down some booze, I'll "save" another good $20 or so. Plus it lands at Toronto Island airport right in the middle of downtown rather than Toronto International, which is a good $60 cab fare to downtown Toronto. Definitely the way to go if you are thinking about it. The only part that sucks is the 1.5 hour drive to EWR...but, hey, whatever. It's $405 on craptastic US Air out of PHL. That's highway robbery for a 1.5-2 hour flight.
After looking through all of the dates and talking to some friends, I've booked a flight for Denver. Friday, March 8th: Arrive in Denver, CO at 9:35 AM Sunday, March 10th: Depart Denver, CO at 6:55 PM The match takes place during spring break, so it work out perfect for me. I would love to split a hotel room with a couple of people. PM me if interested. Thanks
We just booked our flights to Denver and back and found a great hotel rate. Anybody who would want to split a hotel room with my wife and I, reply to this or PM me.
I wish I had some better foresight with my vacation planning. Wife and I had a kick ass time out in Colorado last week. Summit County, Colorado is my favorite place on Earth. Skied Loveland, Keystone, A-basin, and Breckenridge. My fave is Loveland. Maybe I could have been more patient with MLS Scheduling before booking my trip. Oh well, have fun in Denver and for those with money to splurge, check out The Fort restaurant in Evergreen, Co, which is about 5 miles west of Golden on I-70.
Still looking to split a room for the Denver match. I'm also getting three free tickets for the match, so If you split the room with me, you'll also get a free ticket. PM me if interested.
I have two free tickets for the Rapids match on March 9th. Due to the new Rapids ticketing policy, I need to list the names of the people picking up the two additional tickets at will call by tomorrow night. They no longer allow one person to hold multiple tickets at will call, so I just need two additional names to put down for FREE tickets to the Rapids match. You won't owe me anything. PM if you're planning on going to Colorado and want a FREE Ticket to match. Thanks.
I gave away the tickets, and I'll be booking this hotel tomorrow. $104 a night plus tax. http://doubletree3.hilton.com/en/ho...hilton-hotel-denver-RLDV-DT/dining/index.html
Anybody who is planning on going to Denver for this match, how are you planning getting to the Stadium?
I'll post on the Rapids forum asking for a ride. It worked for the Chivas, Galaxy, & Dynamo away matches.
