I don't think Rowe has the motor to play as a true outside midfielder. He looked winded any time he played 60+ minutes. Caldwell I haven't seen nearly enough to judge, but I would be surprised if he was starting material this year. Fagundez, I think is an attacking player. He'd be fine outside in a 4-3-3, but I don't think he can handle having to play both ways as he'd be responsible for in a 4-4-2.
I know you are kidding, but Nyassi's first priority is playing himself onto the roster, never mind the starting 11. I'd feel better if there was another forward candidate in camp besides the draft pick.
Caldwell is a CM, if I'm not mistaken. Not saying he has anything like the experience Toja does, but he was pretty highly rated at Akron (would have been a top draft pick if he's wasn't homegrown). With an ACL, the replacement is generally stronger than the original (particularly if they replace the ligament with tendon). It's possible to tear the replacement, but that's relatively rare (particularly in males). And, if there isn't collateral damage (cartilage, other ligaments, etc.), there's no reason an ACL repair won't be as good or better than pre-injury.
Weekly Update: Casa Grande Revs head to Arizona for first of two preseason trips January 21, 2013 Left yesterday for Arizona, first game is Friday (1/25) vs SKC. 23 players under contract, 8 non-roster invitees, including the 4 previously mentioned, 3 SuperDraft picks and GK Tim Murray.
Caldwell played wide for the first two years at Akron. That is where he was playing when he was named offensive player of the NCAA tournament the year Akron won the national championship
A preseason Revolution primer from league media partner NBC Sports: http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/...in-mls-preseason-camp-new-england-revolution/ So yeah, there's that...
This article is worthless. Davis talks about the defense being weak and our midfield being disjointed, but yet doesn't mention Goncalves or Cisse? It just seems like he hasn't done his homework.
i don't think he showed up in the first place. it sounds like his trial period may have just been delayed. thats just what i've gathered from twitter though, i dunno..

Don't we play Vancouver on Tuesday? It looks like they've updated their website. Doesn't list our match as part of the Desert Friendlies. Makes sense as we're playing in Casa Grande, while those other matches are in Tucson.
That's interesting, to say the least. Why wouldn't the league announce the change? They certainly didn't when the tournament was announced. http://www.realsaltlake.com/news/2012/10/rsl-participate-2013-fc-tucson-desert-diamond-cup
FC Tucson @FC_Tucson @bensaufley We're working on that and will have an official announcement soon. But the final of the DDC will be broadcast on NBC Sports. That was in reply to a question asking if all the matches would be streamed. Haven't seen anything from them since.
