There's a weeknight home game versus LAG between the home-and-away ones against the Fire.

Interesting. MLS made some changes to what they said would happen with the mirrored schedule (not a shock at all). This year instead of playing the Crew and Houston 3 times, we're playing Montreal and Sharting KC three times and the Crew and Houston twice. I wonder if MLS is thinking rivalries are developing between us and these two other clowns. Also, we open and close our home schedule with Sharting.

    Schedule highlights

    - Our schedule to wrap up the season looks rough. 5 of our last 7 games are against playoff teams.
    - Our longest break between games is 18 days (June 5-June 23).
    - 3 consecutive home games on June 5, 23, and 29 against Columbus, New York, and FC Dallas, respectively.
    - Games in Harrison - Saturday, March 30 at 3:30 pm and Saturday, August 17 at 8:00 pm
    - Games in DC - Sunday, April 21 at 5:00 pm and Saturday, October 12 at 7:00 pm
    - Home weeknight games: Wednesday, May 15 vs Los Angeles, Wednesday, June 5 vs Columbus, and Friday, July 12 vs Chivas (Why??)
    - Road weeknight game: July 3 vs Real Salt Lake (A late start to get Independence Day holiday started)
    - 9 games scheduled for national TV (ESPN/ESPN2/NBCSN) - 4 home (New York, FC Dallas, DCU, and SKC), 5 road (New York, Chicago, DCU, San Jose, SKC)

At least they had the sense to put these on weekends. Probably the easiest road trips in the league. Except during weekday rush hours.

inital things that jump out at me-

No sunday night games, no 1 oclock starts. these things are positive.

i also have no idea why there is a friday night game against chivas.

Traffic is a nightmare for the weeknight games, and friday night during the summer is going to compound that

I just posted this on another board, but I really think they are trying to push us to form a rivalry with SKC. They don't really have one and the matches we played against them last year were entertaining...and now we open and close the season against them?

I need an iCal version of the schedule to dump into my phone.

Please post if anyone comes across one. The Union site still has 2012 posted. Of course.

Also, think I'm going to travel to Houston for the July 6th game. Anyone else thinking about going?

That's a ton of Saturday games. Didn't we have more midweek games last year?

My Thursday and Friday morning hangovers are grateful for the Saturday games.

I think we played about the same amount of weekday games this past year. Plus, season ticket holders were surveyed to determine what days and times were best for them, and I would think that's how this schedule was developed.

Just posted in the SOB section a thread for traveling. The Houston game stuck out to me to travel for. I may join on that one.

Last year I was on a half season plan, and I think there were 3-4 non-saturday games. I guess that's all they played.

The MLS app for android doesnt even have 2013 yet, let alone games. Mayan calendar FTW.

MLSSoccer.com schedule has the 5/4 home game vs Seattle at 7:30pm. The Union site has it at 4pm.

Similarly MLSSoccer.com has 5/15 vs LA Galaxy at 7:30pm. Union site has it at 7:00pm.

    (at time of writing)

We had three Open Cup games, and 2 friendlies last season midweek as well..... Those types of games will be determined at a later date. Plus there is no guarantee that will have any home Open Cup matches this season.

I'm OK with that, and I hope we beat piss out of those whiny-ass bastards all three times we play them. Anything less than 3-0 demolition job is unacceptable. Sharting cheated and flopped its way to a Cup win. I have nothing but hate for that team, its players, and its coach.

Chivas LA is a high school team, so they can only play on Friday nights.
Yes. Best soccer stadium in the US.

I ********ing love the MLS after this scheduling. God bless them.
Best memory for me last season, other than kicking the shit out of the Galaxy, was being in LA for 420 and the Chivas LA match. Great times.

    For those who care...
There only are a few NBCsports games involving the Union, so with MLS live*and ESPN3, most of the season is watchable without cable TV.

*local games are supposed to be blacked out, but CSN Union games never are for some reason. Nice little loophole for cord-cutters.

Getting closer and closer, get what beers you want me to get and I'll see what I can do.

Oh and is the Tim Hortons little cafe still open in Xfinity Live? Can't break away match traditions of not getting my Timmy's.

Holy shit, there's a Tim Horton's in Philadelphia? I might actually have a reason to visit what I imagine to be hell on earth, Xfinity Live!
