[2013 Preseason Matchday 2] Union v Columbus Crew - Feb 13, 2013 p/d/p [R]

Yeah I laughed when they said Le Toux scored. He is actually about 6'1... MAYBE 6'2 but no taller than that. He has never been that muscular or anything but I know he has been working very hard for this and he showed good strength when he brought that ball down on his chest. I also hope he has been working on his right foot because he favors his left a lot. I think some people might have doubted him coming from a small school but he is by far the best player I have ever played with. I used to also play against Don Anding in high school when he played for Chaminade. He used to tear us up but I still believe Leo is way more talented

Although the Crew cut a few trialists with Union ties (Krystian Witkowski, Lucky Mkosana) and added another one with local ties (Cody Calafiore - Temple), I would think that we might see at least one of the trialists that you mentioned (one on the left in the below picture).

 

Are you trying to say that the Columbus Crew have many smash hit singles from yesteryear?

 

Based on the line-up tweet, it would look like your line-up. Otherwise, I would guess 4-4-2 with Lahoud at DM, Okai at CM, McLaughlin at RM and Fernandes at LM - also could see Fernandes as AM with Okai at LM in that formation. McInerney, Torres, Soumare, Vidal and Francis out from the group who were the Orlando City subs - Anding, Okai, Lahoud, McLaughlin and Hoffman in. Of the Florida camp participants - Konopka, Mendoza, Kassel, Albright and Richards are still waiting to make their pre-season debuts.

The Crew are starting essentially all reserve players as well.

I think it's been said that they'll bring in a bunch of the starters in the 60th minute.

 

But he was brought in at the 60th minute last game, and he didn't start against Orlando.

 

No presumed starters are starting.

 

McLaughlin looks pretty good so far.

 

Same with Adventure Park Gaddis and Vidal.
