Regarding Joseph in Seattle's camp i read that this is nothing more than an invite. Chivas still holds his rights.
don't get why Sigi would be interested in Joseph. unless he's looking for some over the hill, overpaid guy whom he thinks might fit in as a CB? an does seattle even have cap room?
i haven't seen anything offical that he's been released and a player trialing with one MLS team while still technically belonging to another isn't unheard of ... so until i see an official word on his release he is still with TFC ... the team web page rosters are notoriously bogus and full of errors and can't be trusted as a reliable source.
"Quincy Amarikwa was waived." http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/2013/02/07/mls_toronto_fc_tfc_kevin_payne/ 289045356942090240 is not a valid tweet id 289046522866323456 is not a valid tweet id 289046966246195201 is not a valid tweet id
The Toronto press (see below) is saying that Amarikwa was waived but the team has yet to make such an announcement. His short time in Toronto was a bit odd. Colorado waived him last season. He trialed with New York but he never signed there. He then trialed with Toronto and was signed late in the season. New York had a discovery claim on him so Toronto gave up its 1st round Supplemental Draft pick (1st overall pick - ended up being Ryan Clark from Monmouth) to get him. Now, Toronto seemingly waives him and Amarikwa is back trialing again with New York. http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/2013/02/07/mls_toronto_fc_tfc_kevin_payne/ To that end, Payne insists he doesn't want to rush into signing any new forwards, even though as of right now TFC lacks depth on the offensive end. Hassli is gone. Quincy Amarikwa was waived. Danny Koevermans is still recovering from knee surgery, and likely won't be able to return to action until late May, at the very earliest.
excellent ... thanks for the link ... hadn't seen any official word on him. and with active players trialing at other teams it is hard to know.
Seattle might not have the salary budget room for Joseph but Chivas likely does which could facilitate a deal. The Goats options seem to be: [1] buying Joseph out (which Chivas owners would need to incrementally fund out of their own pocket) to free up salary budget space, [2] letting Joseph rot away on the Goats roster this year so he gets paid to sit out all season but Joseph's salary hits their budget or [3] send him to Seattle, pick up some/most/almost all of his salary hit (no incremental $ required from the Chivas owners), free up salary budget for more Mexican players and then likely get some small trade consideration in the deal (i.e. draft pick) from Seattle. Whether Joseph makes sense as a DM/CM or CB for the Sounders is a whole other matter.
No official link but I was just told (via email) by the Rapids media director that Jim Mauer has left Rapids camp.
Confirmation, plus Marcos Pirchio joins camp. http://www.coloradorapids.com/news/2013/02/argentinian-forward-pirchio-joins-preseason-training

David Ferreira delivered a quality service into the box, which a new trialist snapped on frame. The Atlante goalkeeper was able to get his gloves on the shot, but couldn’t hang on to the ball. Warshaw was there to pick up the rebound and slot it home for a 3-2 FC Dallas lead.
Quincy Amarikwa is in California, he will suit up tonight for Chicago as a "guest player"either in the reserve match vs a college team or with the First side against San Jose. Also the two trialists in Chicago have been identified as Max Griffin formerly of Orlando City (and brother to former Fire player Leonard Griffin) , and Borfor Carr, a Liberian born AM who most recently played for Atlanta Silverbacks (and may still be under contract with them)
Toronto FC ✔@torontofc #TFC training update: Nik Robson, Jose Gomez & Joevin Jones are no longer at preseason camp in Orlando. #TFClive
Cordell Cato played (very poorly) for San Jose. Hopefully we'll send it straight home. Either Hunter Gorskie or Adam Gorsky played for SJ as well. The PR guys said Hunter, the box score says Adam.
