I'd imagine theres a lot of complaining on Chinese soccer forums that all the jerseys look the same and theres to many red and blue jerseys. The nerve of Nike.
Most of those look pretty boring. Way too similar. I'll take what Adidas has done with MLS over what Nike has done with the CSL.
I love a few of the Nike kits (Lyon's blue 3D kit and Portugal's black kit come to mind), but I don't think Adidas' designs are THAT bad. That Dynamo kit that Ashe had on better be a fake or something though, because its certainly no good.
The thing about all of the jersey designs is that the team has input and final approval. Adidas can't say "this is what you're getting so live with it." Someone in the front office made the decision that those were the best designs for the next two years. I read something by a guy that does them and sometimes he's appalled with the choice that they choose, but it's ultimately the clubs decision.
His lower lip area and his stance within his seat is distracting, too. Looks like a crime boss that is recovering from dental surgery. But that's a very interesting photo of all the Nike jerseys. Took me a minute, but I am starting to agree that the CSL suffers from the same kit monotony as we do. However, money is money, and I'll take the current situation (though I do prefer Nike).
My take is that Nike has always been more interested in imposing Nike culture on world soccer rather than being responsive to what those in the world soccer culture want. They are getting better, but they had fifteen years of producing s**t that eroded my (and I am sure many other fans') confidence in their ability to produce a decent product. Don't forget, it was Nike that wanted MLS to have names like Burn, Clash, and Wiz. They fought to call the Chicago team "Rhythm". They sure as hell didn't get it then, and I don't think that they have really stepped up to Adidas's standards yet. Be careful what you wish for.
Here's a great rundown of the CSL kits, and how they differ from last year's. Good read, if you're interested. http://wildeastfootball.net/2013/02/new-2013-csl-kit-designs-are-finally-out/
New logo being unveiled this week by MLS? A friend found this link today... http://adidas.jobpartners.com/jpapp...=zz&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter. Check it out carefully, could be happening!
2 out of the last 3 post confused me. Adidas LA shirt at Nike outlet and an internship posting at Adidas translates to a new logo? It must be too early for me...
Why are they selling Adidas Galaxy shirts at the NIKE factory store? As for my earlier post, it seems as if Adidas removed the line "maintining inventory during new logo transition" form the listing.
Does anyone else think Nike is so obsessed with the throwback designs that it is limiting their ability to make quality products/designs?
I don't. It's not Nike that's making the decisions. It's the clubs. Throwbacks are in, as are weird holographic things and gradients. So that's what they're putting out.
The Dynamo shirts have been revealed: http://www.houstondynamo.com/blog/post/2013/02/25/dynamo-launch-2013-14-home-and-away-kits
OK, breathing a little easier that the sleeves are not that hideous blue. Kinda bummed they went with white for the away but all in all not too bad.
