Things we know about the 2013 schedule: 1. The MLS season starts on March 2 or so. Looks like it will be 34 league games again. 2. Our opponents, if I understand the rotation correctly: Home against the West: Chivas USA, San Jose, Seattle, Vancouver, Colorado Away against the West: Portland, LA Galaxy, FC Dallas, RSL The East schedule should once again be playing every one home-and-away plus 7 of the teams one extra game. I don't know if we'll pick up extra games against Columbus and New England this year since we only played them twice last year or not. If it was a straight flip it would look like this: Home: Chicago (2), New York (2), Kansas City (2), DC United (1), New England (1), Montreal (1), Philadelphia (1), Columbus (1), Toronto (1) Away: DC United (2), Montreal (2), Philadelphia (2), Toronto (2), Chicago (1), Columbus (1), New York (1), New England (1), Kansas City (1) 3. Dates. Looking at the Astros schedule and the FIFA dates we have these Saturdays open. The league says they will schedule lightly during the Gold Cup but they can't take the whole month off. Obviously last year we did play the same day as the Astros a couple of times so this isn't ironclad but it give you a good idea. March 2, 9, 16, 30 April 13, 27 May 18 June 1, 22 July 6, 13, 27 August 3, 17 September 21 October 5, 19, 26 That's 18 Saturdays. Expect a heavy home schedule early in the season. Hopefully the schedule will be out soon. Last year it was announced on January 5.
You can also list the CCL matches, USOC matches, and Charities Cup/International friendlies to the 2013 schedule.
Note to league: March 16, 2013 to be away game for Dynamo due to the fact that Eric Clapton is performing at the Toyota Center that evening. Thanks Brooks
I guess since it's our Away-Home game and a lot of us attend, I'm real excited about going to play frisco next year. MLS better not mess this up again we have a real rivalry here! #OccupyFrisco
After the smokebombs at MLS Cup, I can see the league scheduling a Wed game as punishment. #MLSHatesDynamoFans
Serious question, guys. Now that we have our own stadium (and now that Robertson stadium is gone altogether) do we still call our summer home up in Frisco "Robertson North"? I think we should... you know, for old time's sake.
Not sure if you guys are aware but they are auctioning Robertson's seats http://uhcougars.cstvauctions.com/gallery.cfm and you can see the demo of Robertson here http://www.earthcam.com/clients/manhattanconstruction/universityofhoustonstadium/ you can go click on date's and see the progress
Seats? I never had a seat. I wasn't in a supporters section so I didn't stand, but I had an aisle "seat." Since our section usually had way more than its allotted number of fans, I usually ended up bumped off into the aisle.
Do you think they'll sell bleachers with rough metal edges on the supports that cut your calf if you brush it? I mean, I'd love my old row.
Block out March 2. http://www.houstondynamo.com/news/2...gainst-dc-united-march-2-bbva-compass-stadium

Based on the list of home openers, it appears we have home games in a few of the first couple weeks since we are not someone else's home opener in weeks 2-4. My guess is during week two, we likely host one of the teams with an opener in week one.
It could also be that we have some byes in there due to CCL action. And there are only 4 teams opening up on the 2nd weekend so it's hard to tell. We could just as easily be at one of the other 8 teams with home openers on the first weekend. Hmm, now that I think about it based on our limited away games against the West this year we would only have 3 possible away games the 2nd weekend: @ FCD @ LAG @ POR Probably a home game or a bye the 2nd weekend.
I had forgotten about the BYE. I just noticed there are only a handful of teams, that by virtue of math, didn't make the list twice. Of course three of them are CCL teams.
Could be worse. New England's bye week is week 1 and their first home game of the season is on a WCQ weekend.
Luckily, not on the same day as the US (for attendance and viewing). I think each team there only loses one guy at most which may have played into that scheduling.
I would think that due to Astros schedule + weather, we'll have at least 2 and maybe 3 MLS home games in the first 4 weekends. I could see a bye in week 2 due to CCL.
I think that depends on how heavily they schedule week 4 since that conflicts with the WCQs. I wouldn't be surprised at all with home games week 1 and then week 2 or 3 but not both.
Champions League 1/4 Final Dates http://www.concacaf.com/page/CL/NewsDetail/0,,12813~3014393,00.html FIRST LEG Tuesday, March 5, 2013Houston Dynamo (USA) vs. Santos Laguna (Mexico), 8 p.m. (7 p.m.) SECOND LEG Wednesday, March 13, 2013Santos Laguna (Mexico) vs. Houston Dynamo (USA), 8 p.m. (6 p.m.)
I have my tickets for the US game on 1/29 and hope for a sellout, but this CCL home game is the one where we're all really needed.
