Well, maybe I shouldn't have used the word "most". I honestly don't know what percentage of Crew-logoed apparel has a star over the Crew logo. But its certainly not like this is the first one that doesn't.
I think that design would make for a fantastic away jersey, and I usually am against tri color jerseys, but the yellow accents make it. Then a yellow/white Barbasol logo. Instant classic.
Nice jacket. As of February 26, 2013 at 8:39 pm EST, there is only one MLS team that does not have a game jersey (authentic or replica) available for purchase, not even for pre-order, on the mlsgear.com site. Three guesses which team.
It's not that odd. It's simple, really. Our ownership comparatively doesn't give a flying f*ck. http://thecup.us/union-honor-five-time-open-cup-champ-bethlehem-steel-with-new-jersey/
Re: the size issue: It's not just a fat thing. I am fat. I wear a 3XL. If I had six-pack abs, I'd be wearing a 2XL. Some people are just big and would be big if they had 0% body fat.
Re: the size issue: It's also the other "size" of the fanbase. If we had as many fans and sold as many shirts as Seattle (or LA or Barcelona or Man Utd or whoever) you can bet we'd have all the way up to 9XL available. That said, it's still worth a shot to at least check out the Crew Gear store.
Maybe we could roll out old Xoggz jerseys with "Adidas" written on them in Sharpie (I have no idea what brand their jerseys were)? In all seriousness, the Union 3rd jerseys look awesome. Two things that REALLY bother me though.... and I was always under the impression that SUM managed the online presence for all the league teams. The union store looks sooooo much better than ours does. So, what's the deal?
Crew Gear is much better at stocking 3, 4, even 5XL than the website. It's sort of a reverse Blue Jackets situation.
And I was joking as well. As sizing has gotten smaller I find the regular L and XL shirts are uncomfortably tight in areas other than my midsection
What?! That wasn't a personal dig at me? lol Yeah, my XL jersey tend to feel like I'm trying on a rubber band
Sorry. Didn't realize that. I've heard enough people say it seriously that I couldn't be sure. I apologize for misinterpreting your comment as serious.
@johnrclem Crew jerseys are in stock and will be live on the site tomorrow by mid-morning. Sorry for the delay in arrival.— MLS Gear (@MLSGear) February 27, 2013
Concur. A lot has changed. I have an old Clark medium game jersey that fits me just fine. But the newer Marshall XL gamer I have is tight--in the arms and neck as well.
Oh, it's gettin' real wacky over at FansEdge.com. A few more casual gear items have been added, including this gem: Some other new stuff recently posted: http://www.fansedge.com/Columbus-Crew-Merchandise-_-1078635723_PG.html
