Lazio screwed themselves over years ago when they wasted 50+ million for Crespo. They went from winning the scudetto to going down hill after that acquisition. They never recoverd from that. So is there a problem with Juve's transfer strategy. In comparison to what the Brits and crazy French sides do, it is bargain shopping. And quoting the Buffon transfer from over a decade ago? Really?
why are we going on this whole big rant that has nothing to do with this thread ? The season in which Roma finished ahead of Lazio has passed now lets all think about how next season is going to be please and thank you.
Falc I have no problem with Juve's transfer policy. I never said I did. They can spend whatever they want. But dont criticize lower teams for not having the same depth and luxuries. Yea back on thread then
I feel this season Juventus, Milan, Napoli, and Fiorentina will be fighting for Serie A. Udinese, Roma, Lazio, Inter, Catania, and Parma will be fighting for the two europa league spots. Bologna, Sampdoria, Cagliari and Atalanta will be those mid table teams that aren't fighting for a place in europe and aren't fighting for safety. Sassoulo, Torino, Hellas Verona, Chievo, and Genoa will be fighting for safety.
If we go by today's results, Juve & Hellas Verona are battling for the scudetto. Sampdoria & Milan for salvezza!
So, with the transfer window closed, my final top ten goes like this... My top 3 remains the same as it was in June. 1. Juventus 2. Fiorentina 3. Inter 4. Roma (tie) 4. Napoli (tie) 6. Lazio 7. Milan 8. Udinese 9. Torino 10. Cagliari If you held a gun to my head I would pick Rome to edge out Napoli since (and the Napoli fans will hate me for this...) Roma now has a better keeper.
The one lead by Luca Toni was pretty impressive as well more so than last years team I would have to say..
