Well lets be honest, attitude aside is there another US national striker in MLS who's better? Hes the best American no. 9 in MLS.
and yesterday's Cyprus abomination does not change that. In fact it makes it more likely that EJ is on the plane. James
First, you have no ********ing idea what happened here, it's probably not even a done deal yet. When the details of the negotiations are all released, you might get away with saying that kind of thing (the details will not be released, btw) Second, no-one held out.... Third ... everything else So, I'm gonna say EJ asked for 1.5 million and we masterfully talked him down to 600k with incentives that should work out to a 700k contract number And that Eddie was actually wanting to wait until after the WC when his price might have gone up, but we masterfully talked him into signing at the beginning of the season instead so we have him locked in and can sell if need be. Neither of us are probably tight, but they're equally possible
So interview with Olsen on dcu.com http://www.dcunited.com/news/2014/03/2014-mls-regular-season-preview "We are going to continue to tinker and find out our best four and the best look in our midfield," he said. "I talked before about versatility in Jared Jeffrey, Nick DeLeon, Davy Arnaud, and Luis Silva, who all can play different spots in there. So, that is something we are going to continue to look at. And again, that is going to be a very healthy competition in that midfield because it is so deep and talented. I am excited to have to make those tough decisions this year." Sounds like he is set on a 4-4-2 variation
Does sound like a "diamond" midfield. Also would indicate that Olsen sees Jeffrey as competing against Arnaud and DeLeon rather than backing up Kitchen at the "bottom" of the diamond. That seems to make sense because Jeffrey's strength is passing and the occasional long range shot -- something expected from the Arnaud/Deleon positions in midfield.
Reposting in the other team thread, ********ing for some reason I always read offseason as other team.
We still have a few hours left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's pre-season until the first grill get lit in Lot 8 tomorrow I see this guy finally landed at DC United as I expected him to. When everyone said earlier we had a new asst coach, I thought for sure it would be this dude not the Inter coach, surprised it took this long to get him in in some capacity (you just know I was hoping it would be as Ashton's replacement). I read a long time ago he had moved to DC because his wife got re-assigned here. http://www.dcunited.com/news/2014/0...d-coach-and-assistant-coach-to-the-first-team
