Not yet official, but Philadelphia will most likely lose most or all of:

    Greg Jordan
    Kleberson
    Roger Torres
    Olga Nikolov

Looks like Xabi is seriously looking into the mls i doubt it will happen, the market at the time just doesnt seem right LA is the only team i could see him seriously considering and LA dont have a 4th dp spot so unless they unload gonzalez i doubt it will happen. New York would be interesting though.. he would work well with henry and cahill, petke said that he wanted to bring in a young dp... but i think xabi is more important.

I think GAM is on option year for 2014? The moment Dempsey signed for Seattle, maybe Martins, GAM was going to compare his wage to those guys. And he produces just as much, if not more than them, so if you look at it that way, he wants to get paid. (pretty good strike rate too)

And if he settles for less than Wondo money, he's a dumb ass. But I have a feeling that someone will pay him in MLS. (new retention fund?)

ya i think a team would pay him a good bit, the question is which team? unlike years past i think their are a few teams who could use a striker, new england, makes alot of sense, then dallas, DC, columbus, montreal, RSL, all make sense to.

every team can use a 1 goal every 2 game striker.
though questionable whether GAM will be motivated to play well after WC, and with a DP contract

ya thats what im saying, most teams, wouldnt want to pay him and the few that would probably still wouldnt pay him as much as he wants, to be honest i think he deserves a 325000 deal dp or not i dont care, i think it would be a perfect deal for the revs but on the field i dont know if it would work well, dallas would also be a very good destination.

I don't think Dallas has the cap space. will have to move couple of players, plus a DP player to fit GAM on a DP contract

A team like TFC could use a quality attacking mid.

Quick, let's run down the list of quality attacking mids in MLS. (Morales, Donovan, Zusi, Cahill, Valeri, Nagbe, anyone else?)

Any team (pretty much) could always use a quality attacking mid.

The key is figuring out how to get those types of players signed by MLS and playing for some specific team(s).

I don't think Nelsen has any desire for pure AM. he wants box to box CMs

Reports are New York wants an cam, and Xabi said he was looking to go to new york or La. 1+1=2, I have a good feeling these Xabi to New York rumors will get stronger.

People get to caught up in the whole idea of a CAM (traditional #10) when they hear a team say they are looking for an attacking midfielder. Lots of attacking mids now are no longer a traditional #10 and can either sit deeper or end up out wide. NY is looking for a creative player that can play in the midfield, which Xabi Alonso certainly could do (as could Pirlo).

The question you have to ask is if Xabi Alonso really wants to play in NY, would he be open to a 6 month rest period or a 6 month loan spell at Man City? Because there is this other small team that is coming into MLS that will play in NYC in 2015....

Thanks for the reiteration of the whole what new york red bulls are looking for.
But ya no he wants to play in new york, from what ive seen.
New york at last transfer said they didn't want a big name player, they said they were looking for a young dp, then it is said Xabi has talked to new york and LA about making a transfer and suddenly they are ok with making a large money transfer, im sorry but it just seems very likely he wants to go there, could this change obviously most of the time it does but right now id say New York have a good shot at landing him.

Yes but Toronto isn't any club. Their level of suckage and the ability to throw money around is legendary. Plus I am not sure they have ever ever had a attacking mid on their squad. If only Mr Kiwi was a believer. Oh well, I am sure he has it all figured out.

Does Dwayne De Rosario or Amado Guevara count? (Or how about Luis Silva or Maurice Edu?)

Certainly, TFC (or any MLS team) could benefit from an "attacking mid" who would be a step up from those types of (quality) players.

But finding a (young and/or effective) central attacking mid who "fits in" in MLS (and at TFC specifically) is certainly no small task this (or any) off-season.

You name players that haven't played at TFC in 3-4 years and 4-5 coaches ago. And except for maybe DeRo, all the ones you mentioned wouldn't work as a attacking mid now.

So in conclusion, we have decided that David Ferrira would be a nice addition to TFC; and other MLS teams. Thank you.
