Oh, I was just saying I think Clattenburg is the better referee right now. I have no idea what the scheduling stuff means. Seems kinda nerdy
That should be Man Utd. In fairness there are two other "Uniteds" in the EPL this season. It is not true that there is only one United!. Don't fall into their publicity machine! PH
Why? Everything I said is true. You must be one of those long distance Man U "fans" who never heard of the team 10 years ago! PH
Been a United supporter since Giggs was a rookie. Yeah, I'm old. Just havin' fun with the "English" language. No offense meant.
For the record, no one said a word when I referred to one team as "City." For me, we're dealing with the seven teams who can realistically compete for a UCL slot and constitute a marquee referee appointment. In that realm, in the current era, there really is only one United and one City. It makes it easy that they are from the same municipality.
I must have missed that one. Please do not do it again. But they are not. One is from Manchester, the other is not, if we are being very pedantic. Now if you said same metro area, you would have been correct. But it doesn't take much to put three letters in front of the name. Also I am not sure that realistically Man Utd are still in with a shot for a UCL place. There are stronger contenders for that 4th place. PH
Try telling that to fans from Stoke, Cardiff, Swansea, Hull and Norwich and a bunch of others in the lower divisions. Some of them also have a regional accent. But I think there is only one Wednesday if you are looking for a unique team name. PH
6:30am Sunday, I'll be watching Mr. Atkinson & Co. closely. And enjoying a breakfast at the 3 Lions....
No worries about Atkinson. COYB! You're thinking that LFC gets its result this weekend? Big Sam with the upset. Anyway, I don't he gets the match. So, you're on!
I sincerely hope not! Probably not a good idea though, with the new Hillsborough inquest going on right now. Early reports don't look good for the South Yorkshire police, allegations of a cover-up seem to being verified so far anyway. And Gerrard might as well ask for his YC before the game starts PH
Norwich vs West Brom. Am I color blind or have I just not noticed. That looks like a purple kit the crew is wearing. I like it.
One of four colors they've had all year--and which Nike has now had for three years. It just seems it's deliberately been the fourth choice option in the EPL this season.
Anthony Taylor with two huge goal decisions within 4 minutes of halftime. First one was handling by West Ham defender, Taylor gave the PK, right call. Two minutes later, Liverpool GK grabs ball off West Ham corner and is fouled. The ball falls out of his hands and West Ham kicks it in. The AR spots the foul and beckons Taylor to discuss. Taylor sticks with the goal, wrong call.
Yea this one might generate it's own thread tbh. On the first I think the PK calls itself, not sure why it wasn't considered DOGSO though. On the second I fail to see how AR let himself get talked down tbh. Taylor looks quite foolish for allowing that when he had the help to get it correct.
What is the old adage, assist, but don't insist. I don't think the AR could do much more in that situation. He raised the flag and twirled it. Kept the flag up after the referee had signaled a goal. The decision is match changing and wrong. What else could he do?
Really? I don't think it was worthy of DOGSO-H at all. The angle Suarez was taking to goal was pretty shallow. Did it even draw a yellow? AR2 handled the situation perfectly. I can't see what else he could have done, this is simply an issue of trust. Taylor chose not to trust the AR and it bit him.
Big PK decision in the 69th as well. I'm not sure what to make of it. The West Ham keeper argued with Taylor for almost a minute before drawing his yellow for dissent. The keeper also argued with Taylor on the first handling PK but did not draw a card then.
Very poor decision by Taylor to ignore input from AR. Notice this was a FIFA AR as well, not just some rookie. He would not have been so emphatic with the initial flag waving and standing still if he was not 100% certain he had seen a foul. Probably Taylor saw the video at half time and realized his mistake, which may have played into his decision on the 2nd PK. Which was correct anyway. PH
