2013-2014 Champions League Metapan and Firpo Edition

I was going to post las aventuras del toro y jaguar but opted not to. Metapan (2012 Apertura) and Firpo (2013 Clausura) are the representatives this season, Metapan is in pot B while Firpo is in pot C. Hopefully they fair better than last edition.

As it stands Firpo is scheduling a friendly against Morelia (MEX) in Las Vegas.

I hate CONCACAF obvious attempt at having only US and MX teams Metapan has been moved to group 8 while for Firpo instead of Houston they go to Honduras to face Victoria.

CONCACAF is such a joke. This redraw further proves they have no shame

I was hoping SJ would get one of them. I can't remember the last time a Salvadorian team came to the bay seems like they always just end up in LA, Texas or DC. Aguiluchos USA has hinted they will set up a friendly but I doubt it.

With the redraw this is a tough draw for both. I could see second place finishes if they do things right but that is about it

I'm happy Houston doesn't face either team but Metapan got hosed at this point why have Pots for US and MX teams? Now Metapan went from having an excellent chance to nothing.

It was implemented the last tournament when they switched to 3 team groups. Not a fan since this only benefits Mexico and USA teams.

thats ridiculous. thats exactly what it does. this is total bulls**t. i felt metapan wouldve passed to the last 8, guess not now.

The matches should be set around next week it looks like Firpo has already called for games in the capital. Also CONCACAF wants better pitch condition so Metapan might also have to play the games in the capital.

Also Cartagines wanted to play the games during the day but seems like they have to settle for the national stadium.

Both Metapan and Firpo will have to play their games in el Cusca. Big hit for Metapan who invested in their stadium to get it up to par but now can't host since it is 2 meters to short

Schedule hasn't been released yet and I am not sure what the hold up is. Amazingly in some ways the people running CONCACAF now are worse then the last group. The way they have handled the CCL so far is pathetic.

So I was looking at the CCL schedule a moment ago and its listed that Firpo and Metapan are both playing at their respective fields for their home games. I thought they would be playing in El Cusca?

Firpo lost 1-2 the goal was scored by D Alas.

Much more respectable then previous friendlies against Mexican squads
