Only 50% ?! Anyways, my predictions on the aggregate scorelines: City 4-5 Barca Arsenal 2-4 Bayern Olympiacos 1-5 Man U Milan 3-4 Atletico Schalke 2-4 Real Madrid Zenit 0-6 Dortmund Leverkusen 4-5 PSG Galatasaray 1-3 Chelsea
One thing I didnt remember Arteta would be out of the first game so Flamini would be the only eligible DM for Arsenal. Given our mental block vs English sides that we displayed against City once again. Expect Arsenal to bunker over both games and hope to catch us on counters. If Robben, Schweini are back and everyone on top game With that I think its Bayern 60%
City 2-5 Barca Arsenal 1-3 Bayern Olympiacos 3-2 Man U Milan 1-3 Atletico Schalke 2-4 Real Madrid Zenit 2-3 Dortmund Leverkusen 1-7 PSG Galatasaray 1-5 Chelsea
We have to be careful of our business when facing Arsenal. They have this revenge type of situation which benefited us in the past, they have confidence in their ability aside from Özil they've got Giroud and especially Ramsey who are like two completely transformed players. I still think we can beat them but we have to be focused, hungry and willing to work harder, run more than they do. There's no room for complacency at this level.
We do seem to have mental block issues in the 2nd leg vs english teams. Especially when we think were comfortable after the 1st leg.. Bayern have to remember that English teams are used to playing until the final whistle. Because unlike the BL, the EPL is so back and forth that you really don't know what's going to happen. Especially the last 10/15 minutes PLUS they're used to their 5 min extra time. So they push push push until the whistle is blown. Where as in Germany games are usually done and dusted with only 1/2 mins extra time.. We have to get over the fact that English teams are just going to fiddle fart around in the 2nd leg, no matter what
A good result in the first leg is crucial for us. I don't like the idea of chasing the game against them.
Bayern has a habit of playing lazy after a commanding lead in the first leg. Like our Round 0f 16 loss to Inter in 2011. Somehow we let a 2-1 away win and a 2-0 lead at home turn into us going home.
I believe we beat them 1-0 away, then winning 2-1 at home and they go on and flub 2 more goals.., I still remember how angry I was for flopping against a sorry ass inter team. Schalke tore them apart As far as arsenal goes. I hope pep opts for purely scoring as many goals as possible. We need the away goal advantage. I would try to keep scoring as much as possible and not play so reserved or hold on to any little thing.
These KO rounds are getting harder each year.. There literally won't be a "easy" team in the QF onwards, for anybody.
If we knock off this bullshit mentality in a few games this season where we play like we deserve to win without trying, we should be ok. Arsenal this year has been pretty piss poor against top teams in the EPL, but pounding all the middle and lower class teams one by one.
1-one good thing: the final score, 3:0. We played really good football ok but.....look number 2- 2-one bad thing: we played the same of FC Barcelona, very very slow and without Messi.......ok, as I say in number 1 we played great football but consider that we can play this way only when our stars are all fit, and Ribery and Götze did too much ok in Agadir, but 4 example the Bundesliga is not "la Liga" but a faster championship with teams kind BVB who play very very fast, the same in CL, and we have suffered the physical football in some circumstances, think to the game in Augsburg, the last game with HSV oder with "City", anyway ........IN GUARDIOLA I TRUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I'm very sorry 4 my bad english guys but I'm italian and dont speak good english, sorry again if u are forced to read my messages with so many mistakes) 3-now let's become WELTMEISTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Complacency has been my biggest concern.., we did it last year and almost got knocked out, we did it this year and have given mancity a new hope and hunger. We really seem to make it more difficult for ourselves when we do all the hard work in the first leg, then half ass the 2nd leg. Almost get eggs on our face and give hope for future opponents. If anyone noticed, I think pep was seeing this happening this past week and that's why he instructed our players to play like maddogs pressing hard until the final minute against the Chinese team. I think this was his way to force these guys back up a few gears.
