I know right! He's gotta work on his consistency. Apart from his finishing he was good in the second leg
You're very fortunate that we have no actual mod here besides Hendrik, who, despite being a very good and balanced mod, is still a Bayern fan and forum regular who's used to your antics. Damn it. Sometimes I really wish we had an actual mod who's a Dortmund fan.
You guys were hungrier, fresher, you needed the 3 pts and you deserved to win the game.. Pretty much sums it all up.. So when can you technically secure direct passage to CL group phase next season? (2nd or 3rd place)
Can't you apply or something be one. I would definitely vouch for you, and I'm sure a lot of Bayern fans would.
Still, bayerns first XI lost to this bvb team. Bit surprising why bayern played all those guys if they didnt care? Another win and bvb will be into the cl; directly.
Match meant plenty more to BVB to stay ahead of Scheisse 04. Match meant nothing to Bayern, who are simply waiting for their celebration parade to Marienplatz. I am one BVB fan who will not be talking shit about this one. I like it. But it is nothing for me to brag about.
I think it is strange that if it meant nothing, that he risked his best XI for it. I think it meant something for bayern.
it seems to me that footy's view just validates your denial about the manner of the loss. Losing like that with the best XI to bvb's second or third XI isn't below expectations? Given the rivalry? It isn't like the bayern players didn't try either - they didn't give a full efort but they did try. Why did pep guardiola play the best XI and risk an injury ahead of big matches if it didn't matter at all to him? Maybe this was something of a big match to him? Can you try to answer some of those? I was at the match late last april at the westfalenstadion where both teams had their second string teams - Bvb had injuries and bayern - having won the league - rested several. Bayern didnt do that here. And it wasn't a half hearted effort from anyone last april. It was very, very intense out on the field and the noise in the stadium was almost deafening sometimes. Can you give reasons as to why it would be completely meaningless this time?
Pep likely sees this rivalry in the same way that he sees rivalries in Spain. At Barcelona he didn't rest his key squad members if they played Real Madrid or Espanyol no matter what logical reason prevailed. After the defeat while everybody suggested that this match didn't matter, Pep was the only one who chimed in by saying he made a mistake. I highly doubt the rest of the Bayern crew would be saying that this didn't matter if they had won. Let's not forget this was the worst loss of his managerial career. On top of that our starting XI didn't have Lewandowski, making it look like Jurgen Klopp also treated it like a unimportant game. His tactical use of Auba who played like a central midfielder rather than lone striker really messed with Dante and Boateng. If there's anything Carlo can take away from this match it's that. Not surprising that City beat them the 2nd time around after they learnt how to better utilize their 2 striker system against Bayern.
I guess guardiola and klopp were trying something and this match was important to them. What i feel is that bvb has a lot of confidence from knowing that by playing their best, a decimated team can outplay and beat real's and bayern's first XIs respectively. Carrying that into next season will be very good. Bayern's team wasn't fully motivated but they may face a full-strength bvb next time.
I don't think any Bayern fan is happy with the loss. Just enjoy it people. I'm really not reading much into it. TBH....I dont know why Green and co. aren't starting the rest of the BL season (at least till the last home game)
I didn't like the fact he wasted starters for this match and in the end a predicted result happened anyway.. We could've gotten this result with the youth players anyway so why fatigue the starters?? Anyways on to the next
