Is this a Friday match? Piszczu bench again? Is he training badly or something Edit Schmelzer should park his a## on the bench after his last performance.
Just checked to confirm, yes this match will be played on Friday January 31st, 8:30 local time. Everywhere I've checked today seems to match footy's line-ups.
Official Starting Lineups: BVB: Weidenfeller - Grosskreutz, Sokratis, Hummels, Schmelzer - Bender, Sahin - Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan, Reus - Lewandowski Braunschweig: Davari - Kessel, Bicakcic, Dogan, Reichel – Theuerkauf, Hochscheidt - Boland, Elabdellaoui - Nielsen, Ademi
Dortmund subs: Langerak, Durm, Sarr, Piszczek, Kehl, Hofmann, Ducksch. Also interesting to note, tonight's match pits the Bundesliga’s two longest-serving coaches against one another. Torsten Lieberknecht has been Braunschweig boss since May 2008, while Jurgen Klopp took charge at BVB in July of the same year. And the match has started,we're playing in black kits for once.
No prob, aside from the goal, we've apparently been dominating possession but the chances created are lacking, the Braunschweig defense is solid, apart from the goal obviously.
Miki gets a yellow for shoving a Braunschweig player off the ball, he stopped a dangerous counter though doing so.
Game's getting a little ugly, we've committed two additional dirty fouls, shove by Lewy, advantage, but then Sahin slides in terribly late, and they get a free kick, no card though.
I've noticed this keeper rushes out of his net far to quickly and easily. Rushed out to get Lewy outside of the box and missed him completely, Lewy couldn't do anything out of it though.
Aubameyang has been horrible so far (apart from the goal he scored). Defense looks shaky. Bender and Sahin will have to stay awake in the 2nd half if we don't want to drop points.
Grosskreutz has been doing decently well so far, but I think Piszczek deserves some minutes. Miki hasn't been looking too great, he's been isolated by Braunschweig, whenever he has the ball there is limited passing options and all he can do is run into empty space and lose the ball, which is pretty much all he's done so far. Reus doesn't seem very involved either, nor does Auba aside from the goal. Lewy is doing most of the attacking movement for us, a lot of long balls are being sent to him. Sahin looks ok distributing from the middle Braunschweig looks dangerous on the counter, pressing us well absolutely no space for our attacking midfielders who rely on space, as we only look threatening when transitioning. Braunschweig should get tired around the 70th minute though... Hoffman or something should be subbed in around the 50-60th minute mark if the attacking midfielders keep his up.
I will give Miki B- so far. Messed up a few easy passes, but at least he was hassling all over the field.
Reus put though one-on-one with the keeper at a tight angle, the chip fails though hitting the keeper's glove.
Miki asked to play so incredibly deep. That has always been understated in his assessments. He can't be upfront and in the back all the time.
