I don't know about Mourinho. A lot of the problems in Real Madrid's current dressing room were created by the very same Special One and his inability to settle conflicts quietly and civilized. I doubt Heynckes or Guardiola would have created such a hostile and toxic work environment. Ancelotti on the other hand was never known as a great tactician as far as I recall. He was always a great man manager first, somebody who got the best performances out of the individuals rather than create an elaborate collective playing stile.
Mourinho is likewise known to be a great motivator. The problem is inherent in Madrid, hence the dozens of stories about Mourinho being betrayed by his own team; asking them to follow instructions, etc and constantly being second guessed. That famous incident which found itself in headlines recently of asking his team not too reveal lineup but Madrid players doing just that. For whatever reason the team turned agains him and his record speaks for itself. He gets players behind him so it's dubious how it's just that this happened in Madrid and nowhere else.
But all i said were true What this showed for dortmund is that they can turn anything in their favour. That belief is awesome.
Does anyone have stats from the match? Would love to see pass conversion rates, shots on goal, one-on-ones, etc - detailed report on each player. Not sure which website to try..
Hi all. Not trolling, just wondering if anyone has any good articles in English on gegenpressen? I'm fascinated by Klopp's ideas on the concept. Good game by you guys, we should have finished it with the Di Maria penalty but you gave us a mighty scare.
I found it funny that when Real Madrid fans go to a thread that's not their own, they're reputation precedes them so when they want to ask a legit question they have to say they're not trolling, otherwise people would assume otherwise. Just thought it was unusual and interesting. Anyway google is your friend, the first couple returns on gegenpressing provide decent english links. https://www.google.ca/search?q=gege...l5.4864j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8 By Bundesligafanatic: http://bundesligafanatic.com/gegenpressing-for-the-soul-how-borussia-dortmund-pushed-bayern-munchen/ By Bleacher report: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ical-mind-of-borussia-dortmunds-juergen-klopp By Footballspeak: http://footballspeak.com/post/2013/05/16/The-German-Football.aspx By Squawka (after the Arsenal match): http://www.squawka.com/news/2013/10...pressed-arsenal-into-submission/2013102428780 Not entirely new, some talk about Heyneckes's implementation of the system. I think we know that Atletico implement their own variation, Mourinho's Chelsea also presses somewhat similarly, and Bayern is capable of if due to their squad depth. The semis well see Real Madrid play against the roughly the same pressing system, of course against better opposition than us.
First time posting in the Dortmund forum and after my welcomes in the Barca and Manchester United forums when I first posted, I thought it was best to clarify that I'm not here to rule up the locals Thanks for the links. I had read all of the articles on the first page of google before coming here. It was fairly basic stuff, was looking for something more in depth or some ideas/explanations direct from Klopp. I thought it's more likely that the in depth sources might be in German which is why I asked for help here.
Well I'm not too familiar with German sources so can't help you there, I would doubt that Klopp would reveal his tactic, as others would have it too easy to figure out how to go against its weaker point. Maybe the others posters know something I don't. Found this one on the second page if you haven't read it. http://www.footballradar.co.uk/blog...ia-dortmund-and-the-importance-of-marco-reus/
In any case, you are only a couple of 100million euro signings away from beating dortmund's B-team convincingly...
Did not get to see the game because of work. Sounds like you guys dominated and were unfortunate not to go through. Go get Drmic now you guys won't regret it unlike that Armenian crap you guys bought.
Come next spring, we'll realize how wise our management was to get him. He didn't score on Tue, but was unbelievable in all other aspects. Once he gets some of that chemistry with teammates and gains confidence, there will be no way of stopping us.
I would look into Spielvelagerung.de You can translate them and it generally does a good job but they started working in English too. Best tactics blog on the internet. The German Zonal Marking but in my opinion better.
Much better than zonal marking in the sense that the analysis is almost the same but the updates are way more frequent. My German vocab is horrible otherwise I'd spend hours on that website.
Where do you have to stay in the Bundes Liga table at the end of the season, to qualify for the champions league?
