just realized that Young Boys did not make it to the 2nd round for one damn goal, despite trashing Anzhi at home for 3-1. Good lord. They also were in an insane pool... f**k you udinese :/

 

wait, it's a loan extension or the deal fall apart (and therefore the previous Sponichi article was incorrect) and he simply is a Kyoto player?
By the way I hope that he will find more space

 

Up again: seems that he is indeed already property of Young Boys. Still he will stay in Kyoto until June for the moment.

 

Expected again to join Young Boys in mid-june, maybe we'll understand if he was truly already property of YB or if a transfer is going to happen.

 

just a quick note: he has a contract until 2017 with Young Boys.

I'm not sure if he will still play against Mito, as he will "officially" move on the beginning of July. He has scored 7 goals in 14 matches so far this year, said he felt this is his best year.

Fredy Bickel, Sporting director of Young Boys says they'll give him a chance, otherwise he might go on loan (this last part wasn't a direct quote). Also said they noticed that he scored a lot in Japan, so they're hopeful he can be value.

As I already wrote he was bought by the previous SD who isn't anymore at YB, so basically nobody knows him at all. Albert Staudenman who is YB's PR said "we have only seen him on video, so we are excited to see what he can do". Also said to give him time to acclimate, and that while Kubo speaks little english and is attending German lessons he is very open and
approachable.

Tomorrow Young Boys plays Dinamo Moscow and there might be time for a little appearence it seems, though I doubt.

yeah, the matches themselves are no more than Serie A: but the league has a long winter break (makes sense, it's Switzerland after all). It stops in very early december, and resumes in february.

 

well, Switzerland is an 8 million people state and it's not all about football like, dunno, Uruguay, but it's not even really that. They simply have many divisions, and everything is balanced according to the economics and the strenghts of the clubs. Most of the challenge league clubs are comparable to german third division clubs, so it's good as it is. The gap between the first and second division is quite large. 2 home and 2 away matches, that's correct.

 

Kubo in against Dinamo Moscow, I'm watching it right now...

edit: played about 30 minutes, YB won 4-1. On the negative, he was too isolated upfront and touched very few balls, 7-8 at most. He also did not think fast enough in a couple of those times and lost the ball.

On the positive, his movement allowed for the third goal as he brought a man on him and that left space for his mate. Also, he made a nice dribble at 87', then let his mate get the ball from him but the guy couldn't score. He also made some solid stops on long balls.
Also, when the ref whistled a bunch of kids got on the pitch and ran towards him (and his mates of course) to get autographs and he was like "wait wtf is happening" hahaha
