i liked some of dovale's (is this what we're to call him, or is it toni?) quotes from this article (http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...-dovale-lauds-level-play-i-can-become-better-) after his first practice with our squad today (wed).
This news is a few days old to some, but I saw a tweet a few days ago saying that Adnan Gabeljic was on trial with Montreal. No clue when we released him.
Not suprised really. Wish him good luck and I'm sure he'll find a place (maybe not in MLS this year) soon!
Or in Oklahoma City with the rest of the recently let go Sporting Players + 2 Sporting Loanees and an Acadamy player!
I know it's not the offseason anymore, but I'll keep updating the first post with any transfers up until the window closes on May 12th. Updated with Jerome waived.
Victor Munoz was signed today. http://www.sportingkc.com/news/2014/04/sporting-kc-signs-midfielder-victor-munoz Toni and Munoz are both 23; Uri is only 21. I LOVE the young Spanish players we're bringing in. Why Victor Muñoz Put A Pro Soccer Career With Real Madrid On Hold
Can we either rename this thread or put the roster in the player news thread? The word offseason in the title is annoying me.
Did we find out why DC didn't keep him? Gotta say, being waived by DC isn't exactly the best thing to show on a resume.
DC picked up Eddie Johnson and Davy Arnaud in their offseason. Comparing Ben Olsen's and Peter Vermes' respective track records for judging talent, I think I'll take the young Spaniard over the mercurial and over-the-hill guys, thanks.
There is that, I suppose. I guess I would have assumed that the support players/draftees that Olson would be trying to snag would be the hard workers, the really grind-out-a-result guys, in order to support his shinier acquisitions up front and button down the midfield. But then, if he really is as dumb as his results show... there is that. Definitely that.
