I honestly thought you guys had our number again...so much so that I stopped watching the game at the bar I was at to head home. Luckily I DVR'ed it cause to my surprise, when I arrived at home I found out we had pulled out the win.
Once again Oklahoma State, Iowa State, and OT doesn't bode well for the Cowboys. 3sus of Nazereth Lives!
And Iowa State is going to be in the Big 12 Championship for the first time since 2000. We are in great times right now.
Champ: Florida over Louisville Final Four: Florida, Michigan State, Creighton, Lousiville Bold Prediction: With the exception of Villanova, all of the 2 seeds will lose in the 1st weekend Upsets: Stephen F. Austin over VCU (Have them in Sweet 16), Providence over UNC (Have them in the Sweet 16), North Dakota State over Oklahoma, Nebraska over Baylor I had Xavier upsetting UMass, so my bracket already looks poor
If Nebraska can get by Baylor, the bracket sets up for the Huskers to do something special. As the disrespected little brother in the Nebraska basketball universe, you've got all the motivation in the world to beat Creighton. In Wisconsin you've got an opponent that you know you can beat, because you've already done it this year. Not saying it's going to happen, but anything is possible.
Well, it's that time of year, and given that my UVa Cavaliers have waaaaay outperformed this season, it's even more interesting for me than normal. And as this time rolls around, I am prone to pour over what for me is the greatest box score ever: Villanova's win over Georgetown in the 1985 final. Nova had already played the Hoyas three times that year and on the greatest stage, they played a darn near perfect game. They made 22 of 28 from the field and were 22 of 27 from the foul line. That is a total of 11 misses. For the entire game. And coke head Gary McLain played all 40 minutes versus one of the greatest pressure defenses in NCAA history, and had only 2 turnovers. 2!!! Subs for both teams combined for a total of 28 minutes. It is as amazing to think about as it was to watch live. Probably the greatest single team performance that I've witnessed. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1031532/
I was talking with some guy on twitter who's a UVa fan. I laughed when Iowa State (my school) and UVa were in the same part of the bracket. The Iowa State Women are hosting a part of the women's tourney so I'm going to their game on Friday as well. (The Women's Team is quite popular on campus. Outside of behind the baskets the whole lower deck is sold out for the game pratically outside of here and there.)
I saw it, too. Based on those 40 minutes you would've thought that Ed Pinkney was a future NBA superstar, not a solid NBA journeyman, after that game.
I have a friend on a Pirates message board that I frequent who's also a Cyclone (or would you say a Cardinal?, there seems to be some identity confusion here...) and so it's slightly bittersweet that we're both in the East...
It's Cyclones, Iowa State and Iowa don't really get along so we made ourselves a bird mascot a long time ago since Iowa's The hawkeyes (A cyclone would actually look horrible if it was a mascot) The tourney has started officially, Dayton and Ohio State are playing on CBS. Good Luck to all with your brackets.
Well, my brackets may get screwed.... I had Iowa State in my F4s and Niang broke his foot. Iowa State has some great players but it just became that much harder to win.
careful of that lie about college on your resume... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab...n-his-resume-costs-him-usf-job-135444925.html
Five, tops. But don't think Kentucky cares- I sure wouldn't. No one's gonna try to step in and say they'd have been that Final Four team if UK hadn't (insert whatever violation they're going to be accused of here ____________ ).
