All it took was replacing a owner (Dollar Bill) that didn't care with a owner (Rocky) that cares. So Andy has done the not caring part, either start caring or just sell the team to somebody that cares.
Gave up 3 PP goals, but killed off a late 5-on-3 PP that lasted over 90 seconds. Not sure how much the loss of Frolik hurt the PK, but I'd imagine that has something to do with it (though Washington has a great power-play).
Must every Hawks discussion on this board become about Fire marketing somehow? Yikes! Anyway, great to get a win to start the year and the PP actually looked like a unit for once. I'm not overly worried about the PK. Caps are a great PP team, obviously, and it'll take Kruger and Nordstrom a bit of time to gel. No, it's completely true. A few times when he's been on Mac and Speigs they've asked for his opinion on him and he just totally sidesteps the question why the 2 of them make fun of him some more.
Yep. They all sat very deep in a small box AND with no movement at all. They weren't even keeping their feet moving in place. Standing flat footed is not real effective with a team like the Caps. The 5 on 3 kill was as much Crawford as anything.
A 5 on 3 kill is 99.9% the goaltender. That and the center winning the majority of the draws. Crawford was a beast on that 5 on 3.
After Magee hit the cross bar last week they didn't want to show him up. Classy grow of guys, they are.
...Well that was quite the stupid mistake to pinch that late in the period while the game was tied and heading to OT. I blame Pause.
