Amine Albalil scored the sixth and clinching penalty kick to give the Bay Area Ambassadors a 5-4 decision in the tie-breaker after the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in regulation. With the win, Bay Advances to a play-in game for the entry into the Lamar Hunt/U.S. Open Cup against a representative from U.S. Club Soccer.

The Ambassadors broke through the Gold's defense with a great pass from Victor Ceja-orozco and great run from Javier Hill. Hill's breakaway was only thwarted as the Gold's keeper Max Herrera fouled him, and in return received a red card. The Ambassadors missed the ensuing penalty kick leaving the game scoreless with the Gold down a man.

Brayan Walle gave the Ambassadors the lead in the 64th minute, putting in a rebound of a shot by a teammate. The Gold equalized in the 82nd minute on a goal by Manolo Pina.

Meanwhile in Southern California, the Fullerton Rangers scored early and late to defeat San Diego Boca 3-2. Rangers took the lead in the opening minute on an own goal. Diego Turoldo made it 2-0 in teh 10th minute, with a shot that hit the turf and skipped over the Boca goalkeeper.

San Diego equalized on second half goals by A. Rodriguez and J. Perez.

But Rangers earned the win in stoppage time on a penalty kick Jhovany Hernandez.

Rangers automatically advance to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The Bay Area Ambassadors still have to face a representative from U.S. Club Soccer in a play-in match. The U.S. Club Soccer representative will be determined the weekend of April 21, with the play-in hosted by Bay Area on the weekend of April 28.
