Pat Phelan's team, SJK, is in the first division not 3rd. Wikipedia isn't up to date. Tough news about Dube, he always was a hard worker.

I remember all the talk when we won at LA how that was a sign of how good we are ...

I think LA just sucks. Philly took three points at LA last night, SKC and Vancouver also walked away with three points, and RSL and Seattle finished 0-0, while Dallas and TFC tied at 1.

If it hasn't been noted before - Philly also crushed The City Islanders 5-2 or something last week.

Unfortunately for us, the once completely inept teams (Philly & Toronto) now seem very much competent and competitive due to their coaching changes.

I saw this on the NE Soccer Today site. Too bad. He looked promising in his first few games & I had high hopes for him....

Concussions seem to be becoming more of an issue around the league & are gaining publicity because of the NFL its a tough way for him to go out. Only 27 too?

Too bad for Adam. Congrats to him on his career - there were modest expectations, but he often exceeded those expectations. Plus, he helped LA win an MLS Cup.

Thanks. Doubt very much the Revs are involved although Burns mentioned during half time that they were looking at trades as an option

I'm a huge fan of Kimura's game, seems like a solid trade for both sides, although Portland essentially surrendering two International spots to land him could hurt them during the transfer window.

Former Revolution forward Kenny Mansally helps RSL shut out Seattle - as a left back.

Interesting place to put Mansally, very innovative to play him out of position, as an outside defender no less, where he can utilize that speed. Makes me wonder if Heaps had tried that would he have panned out instead of Tierney? Our defense would be a LOT faster at least.

And he was MOTM no less....
He hasn't been at RSL that long, so envisioning him as a LB is something they must have conceived scouting while he was here. That says alot for their pro scouting, and shows increased maturity for the league in general.

He plays left back for Gambia, so it was a known thing that he had experience at the position. Not quite sure why Heaps never tried him there, as it seems like his skill set is much better suited for that position.

Pretty anemic set of games tonight, with three 0-0 ties (Dallas/SJ, Chivas/Vancouver, and SKC/Houston) as well as a blowout in RSL/Portland.

The nationally televised game Colorado/Seattle game was interesting at least, with Eddie Johnson burying another unmarked cross, Seattle nearly gagging away 3 points again (as a Larentowicz-triggered equalizer was disallowed due to the deflecting player being offside) as well as Zakuani's return.

I liked Castrillon for Colorado, and that other mid they have, Larentowicz, who seems to have spent the Euro's carefully studying Pirlo.

Martin Rivero is the star in Colorado's midfield, I haven't seen many with his passing ability in MLS.

East playoff hunt (GP, Pts, GD):
SKC, DCU, and NYRB are clearly the class in the East, sitting on 33, 33, and 31 points.

    CHI 18, 28, 0
    HOU 18, 24, -2
    -----------------------------
    NER 17, 22, +2
    CLB 16, 22, 0
    MON 20, 21, -9

And then there's the Dregs, Philly and Toronto sitting on 17 and 10 points. This could end up being a fun rest of the summer.

    * - Currently in the playoffs.

In a straight points look, the split at the top of the EC is still four teams, with Houston bridging that group with the next which includes the Revs, Crew and Montreal. And Philly is starting to pick up their pace with their third win in their last four games.

Timbers are apparently going to announce the firing of John Spencer in a press conference from their owner Merrit Paulson today
