It's worth noting that DC is reporting that his new contract will be below the DP level. Good move for DC, opening up another DP slot.

DC didn't give up much for him, Revs could have easily matched that or exceeded that offer if they wanted (we have an extra Supplemental pick from the Fred trade last year). He's played well in non-league action, might have been a nice pickup.

I'd certainly prefer him to Brettschneider at this point.

For me, that would be his main qualification. I've never been that impressed, and hope that we can do much better.

Revs and TFC are the only two home teams last night that blew points at home. All the other teams won, and no 0-0 ties again!

    * - Currently in the playoffs.

That split at the top of the EC continues, but Chicago has now joined the group to make it a top four, with three teams below that in a cluster (CBus, Houston and the Revs) looking at that fifth playoff spot. We haven't played the Crew yet, but did tie Houston at home. TFC starting to play better (at least in regards to getting results) since Mariner took over.

Quick question - when MLS revised the playoff format last year, is it no longer "conference champions + top eight overall" and now "top 5 in both conferences?"

Here is the MLS site's description of the new Playoff format & tweaks (this was very difficult to find)

Also, did anyone see Wondo's celebration w/ the servicemen standings next to the net in the LA game? I thought it was nice. Quality celebrations are difficult to find!

I'm talking like.... where did the decision to bring in Corradi, Di Vaio, and possibly Nesta come from?

Mateo Ferrari too. Maybe it was a domino effect, they convinced the first one to join then that helped convince the others as they came along.

Huge Italian community in Greater Montreal that maintains close ties and heritage of the mother country. Examples of Italian-Montrealite (not sure of the real demonym) in sports are NHL goalie Roberto Luongo and late boxer Arturo Gatti.
