Yes: I wasn't 100% clear: "those yo-yos" = Team Santorum in South Carolina. Not much overlap between that group and the Charleston Jewish community. Probably a similar situation between "Team Santorum in South Carolina" and "South Carolinians who can read."

Speaking of South Carolinians, 29% don't know the name of the current VP

What does Joe Biden do, exactly?

Nearly 30 percent of adults in South Carolina have no idea, according to a poll released Wednesday by Winthrop University. 29.3 percent of adults polled in the Palmetto State could not identify the current vice president — Biden. (RELATED: Full coverage of Joe Biden)

Almost a quarter of those surveyed had no answer to the question, three percent provided the wrong name and another three percent identified Dick Cheney.

edit re: Jews and the south: I knew that because I used to live near New Orleans, and because my wife grew up in Newport, which has Touro Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in the US. The tour featured a stop at a map that indicated major historical Jewish communities in the US.

Yeah, the first Jewish Senators in the US were all from the South, including Judah Benjamin in Louisiana.

Some years ago I actually visited Touro Synagogue in Newport. Neat place.

I just know about this stuff 'cuz I'm Jewish. :)

It's one of those facts I "know" but often forget; or it's not really part of my "mental picture" of early America.

    Gotcha--thanks for clearing that up.

Hey maybe Santorum will send you a Valentines Day card with Mathew 23:37,38 on it.

If Rick does, Knave should send him this:

The Jewish Annotated New Testament, edited by Amy Jill Levine and Mark Z. Brettler

It's not Jews for Jesus, it's a NT with annotations designed to highlight the Jewish roots of Christianity. Not sure Rick would read it, but it's worth a try.

Can you imagine the potential for the Obama ads if Santorum did win the GOP nomination?

Announcer: "Vote Obama and don't even try to do online research on the GOP nominee, take our word for it, he is mostly just a piece of sh@%"

After 2:25.. One of the main reasons i just cannot bring myself to vote GOP in most scenarios...

Obama will win if Gingrich or Santorum is the nominee, that's why they want to focus on contraception so that the GOP talks about social conservative issues instead of fiscal conservative issues.

Obama will win if the GOP nominee is anyone other than Jeremy Lin.

And you know, the GOP would have a lot more to say about fiscal conservative issues if we weren't in recovery. Damn that Odumbo for not destroying the economy. Why won't he tank the economy so the GOP can win?
