Remarkable come-from-behind victory for the Yankees over the Red Sox, 15-9. Yanks were down 9-0 after 5 innings when the long march back began. A run in the 6th was followed by 7 in the 7th and 7 more in the 8th. Nick Swisher whacked a grand slam and Mark Teixeira homered twice — both had 6 RBIs. Swish, Tex, Jeter and Nunez all got 3 hits. Freddy Garcia was destroyed, giving up 5 runs in 1 2/3 innings before being pulled. Boston did manage to outhit the Yanks 17 to 16. Bobby V was lustily booed by the Fenway crowd during pitching changes. Humiliation!!

The rotation gets pushed back thanks to yesterday's rainout. CC goes tonight. The question will be whether Joe Girardi decides to skip over Freddy Garcia's next turn on Saturday and moves CC up a day.

A 3-run homer by Alex Rodriguez in the 5th helps give the Yanks a 7-4 win over Texas. Derek Jeter goes 4-for-5 -- he's batting .411(!) and leads the Majors in hits with 30. CC had the longest start by a Yankee pitcher so far this season, striking out 8 over 8 innings. Mo threw the 9th for his 4th save.

Freddy Garcia continued to have his head handed to him, giving up 6 runs in 1 2/3 innings. He now has a 12.51 ERA!! The Yankees fought back, rallying for 3 in the 9th but fell short, 7-5. 2 home runs from Swisher, 1 by Granderson. The bullpen gave a great effort again, 7 1/3 innings of 1-run, 2-hit ball between Rapada, Phelps and Eppley.

Garcia's next start is due to come Thursday against the Kansas City Royals, the team with the worst record in baseball.

When i read about Pineda's surgery i felt bad but i thought... oh well.. it happens. You can't predict these kind of things. Its not THAT big of a deal. But when Cash came out and said the things he's said. I am frickin' worried now. This is a HUGE deal. I am kinda devastated.

In all my time following the Yanks i've never heard Cash talk like that. Not a good sign.

Our bats are going well and our pitching which was supposed to be our strength is letting us down. Every frickin' season its one or the other. When will we click all at the same time.

Curtis Granderson and Andruw Jones homered. Jeter got on 4-out-of-5 times -- 2 singles and 2 walks. Nick Swisher was pulled in the 3rd with a left hamstring strain. Yanks left 15 men on base.

Trivia Time: Alex Rodriguez passed Willie Mays for 9th place on the all-time RBI list, getting 2 today for 1,904 lifetime.

Joe Girardi announced that Freddy Garcia is being relegated to the bullpen. David Phelps will be moved into Garcia's slot in the rotation. Phelps has pitched 17 2/3 innings in relief with a 3.57 ERA this season. He's likely to go Thursday in Kansas City.

Meanwhile, D.J. Mitchell has been brought up from Scranton and Cody Eppley sent down. Mitchell was 2-1 with a 3.12 ERA in 4 Triple-A starts.

Andy Pettitte will make his next start for Trenton on Monday night against the Portland Sea Dogs.

Eric Chavez's 2-run homer in the 2nd were all the runs the Yankees needed. 2-1 win makes the Yanks 4-0 over the Orioles so far this season. Hiroki Kuroda went 7. David Robertson struck out the side in the 8th. He's given up no runs in 11 innings thus far and has 18 strikeouts. Mariano picked up his 5th save.

As much as I despise the Junkees, I don't want to see Mariano's career end like this.

But the question must be asked: what in the world is the best closer in the history of the game doing catching fly balls? What skill can be acquired from making catches in front of the outfield wall that would prove useful on the mound?
