Now heading to second OT. If anything, Winthrop is the stronger side. Their target fwd #7 is an absolute behemoth. Washington up 1-0 early on a corner kick. Ugly game so far.
UW announcer is quite good for a home announcer and entertaining as well.......most salient point made - it's hard to read purple lettering on black (UW) jerseys at night..........
The Colonial league, Big East and C-USA went a combined 1-3-3 at home. Other home teams have gone 6-1.
Even though I got this pick wrong, I'm glad to see it. Winthrop seems like a plucky group (even if they're loaded up on internationals) and SMU is just a perpetual under-achiever.
Winthrop is usually a tough out - soccer, basketball, you name it. SMU will be fine since they're leaving for the Big East next year. I got the FDU-St Johns pick wrong but I'm glad to see FDU move on.
Very dull first half in Northridge. Scoreless; only one shot on goal by each team. San Diego is controlling possession. CSUN playing very lifelessly; apparently happy to just be in the tournament. Matadors are without Big West Defensive Player of the Year Joe Franco at right back. Now it's raining.
I agree with you about SMU, but I have a hard time seeing anything to like about Winthrop and all its foreigners. I see them as an NAIA team.
I thought I saw Northridge hit the crossbar in the first half? I'm at another sporting event but watching the feed on mute.
So when is the NCAA gonna start realizing that Conference USA is not strong... Every year highly regarded teams like UAB and SMU bow out early... 0-3 as a conference so far, good luck to Tulsa
Air Force hits the crossbar from an 18yd 1 ft free kick right in front of the box................no score
No idea how that got past the wall but it was a good free kick. Air Force unlucky not to be even. The sirens in the background of this game are a nice touch. I guess Hope and Jerramy have started their honeymoon.
