I'm thinking about resurrecting my old numbers thread.

Maybe this week if I can find a nice (and easy) way to post everything.

I've got DC United's tragic number at 8. But with tie-breakers and schedule effects, it might be 7. I haven't really looked that closely.

Paging @profiled . He's got a macro that makes loading the tables a breeze.

I'm thinking about posting the tables as images.

But I believe I have profiled's macro bookmarked somewhere.

I don't have time to start the spreadsheet, but I just did the "check what other teams are playing" and DCU is already eliminated from Supporters Shield. Portland plays RSL 3 times. LA and Vancouver both play RSL and Portland once...hence one of them has to have 44 points no matter what.

    Looking forward to it.

It is 8 without considering any matchups.

I've had my 2013 spreadsheet since opening day.

Only thing I lack right now is the remaining schedule -- for determining strength of schedule down the stretch.

Yah, I've been checking this for awhile. This thing is awesome. There is sometimes a small problem with the algorithm giving false positives for elimination (as they might not simulate that one in a million thing) but it's pretty ********ing good. Thanks for setting it up.

Until the number of iterations reach a reasonably small number, this site cannot truly indicate mathmatical elimination or clinching. It can *disprove* elimination/clinching, but at this point there are way too many permutations (3^95 and counting down) without the head-to-head tragic/magic as @Knave applies it.

Here's the link and some instructions, I need to update my website with these -

    http://www.notunusual.net/2012/11/02/bigsoccer-com-excel-table-builder-script/

Ok first you'll have to save your excel spread sheet as a macro enabled (should be a *.xlsm), otherwise you can't do anything with it.

Then you need to turn on the developer tool bar (assuming you're using visual studio 2010), right click on the ribbon and select Customize The Ribbon, there should be a "Developer" option on the right, enable that and click ok.

Now go to the Developer ribbon and click on Visual Basic.

Copy and past the VB code that you downloaded into your "ThisWorkbook" section.

Then you'll need to add a reference to the MSforms (FM20.dll).

Do this click "Tools" then References. Click Browse and go to your windows\system32 folder and select "Fm20.dll".

    Click ok.

Now you should be able to run the vba code (hit the play button when in the function).

This will take any data you have selected in the actual spread sheet, format it for BigSoccer and put it in your clip board to paste here.

Here is a link that shows you how to do it (other then adding the references).

@profiled I think that is the answer. You just post this randomly in various threads and I will rep it wherever you post :)

If you guys need any updates/modifications/any other custom work remember just to let me know and I'll try my best to help where I can, I really appreciate the access to all the data you guys post, it's awesome stuff so it's the least I can do to help out.

Are there any examples here of what it looks like when pasted and posted?

I also have a way to add additional variables to each cell. I used it to add color to my columns, but all it does is append text to the start and end of each cell in a chosen column:

EDIT: ugh. Is there a way to display code without having it executed? Just quote my post to see how it works

Basically every "Case" is a column(of the selection, not the whole sheet) , numbered from left to right. It may prove useful.

There is a code tag. Now it's that little icon with <>.
    Code:
You can copy your code into the box that comes up or simply type in between the [CODE] tags.
