I just got the dreaded email:

I'll probably cancel this order and just pick a jersey up when I'm in California in May.

Did any of you see this comment by Garber in his interview with ESPN:
    http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/ml...er-don-garber-spoke-2012-season-jeff-carlisle

Is this our first actual confirmation that Herbalife will be our ongoing sponsor?

I'm surprised that there's been no announcement/hype by the club, if true.

Don't feel too bad looks like the players got the same message, and thus they are still wearing the training tops vs TFC :p

I noticed that ProSoccer.com in Pasadena have the authentic shirt in-stock but there's no scudetto. Does anybody know if this is how the shirt is going to be elsewhere and if so is it going to be a pain to get a scudetto patch?

I might be wrong on this, but my understanding is that the authentics have the scudetto, the replicas do not. So either that store is fibbing when they say they have authentics, or they have the wrong picture.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hog you are correct... but I think the replicas will also not have the stars on them either????

I remember buying an authentic two years ago just because it had the stars... and now I have to wait another year for the third star...

Im sure we've covered this before... BUT give us our damn star immediately and give the patch to the SS winner... wait a minute... I'm receiving word that is also us...

    Regardless...

Here's what I know. Usually the authentic Adidas jerseys have:
    -Printed crest (instead of patch)
    -Stars above the crest
-The US (or Canadian) flag and MLS logo patches on the sleeves.

Replicas have the sewn crest, no stars or country flags. The pictured shirts would appear to be authentics, since they have stars and the flag, but I'm not sure why the scudetto isn't there also (don't know what the rule is for those).

Originally they had the same picture that is on worldsoccershop.com but I called them this afternoon to verify if the shirt had the scudetto. The guy had to check the physical shirts and he said it did not have the scudetto. I emailed them later to just verify I got the same answer and then they changed the image. I've ordered the previous home and away authentic shirts from them so I totally trust them.

No, they didn't have any. The replicas were selling for $99, 20 more than you can buy them online for.

Thanks for the link, can someone post the text of the article here? I'm not a subscriber.

But I think we are stuck with Herbalife based on the Garber slip up in that Q&A. Also, the Herbalife logo looks much bigger this year too - hopefully that means more money when the official announcement comes.

Just read this on twitter from Adam Serrano:

LA Galaxy call a press conference on Friday to "announce Record Sponsorship Extension & Joint Community Program." Extension of Herbalife?

Looks like we are stuck with them for a while. :(

They're willing to put up the dough for the largest kit sponsorship deal in the league, why not? Of course we'd all want something like Zima, Hula Hoop, or Pac-Man, but we'll take what we can get.

10 years. $44 million. Somewhat disappointing The Sounders are getting $4 million from Microsoft today, 10 years from now $4.4 million might seem like small potatoes.

I don't know, that seems like a pretty long stretch to find "disappointment".

I always thought it was Beckham that drove the value of the shirt sponsorship. The fact that Herbalife has signed on for 8 years beyond his playing career at fairly similar numbers is pretty impressive.

I hate Herbalife. I've bought so much less Galaxy stuff in the last 5 years because I don't want to promote that company. Oh well.

It’s the long stretch that’s disappointing. The Galaxy are taking a large gamble shirt sponsorship deals are going to remain flat or decline over the next decade. I’m not sure I agree with that conclusion.
