Why does the Players Union publish these numbers? And why do I get the impression that 90% are full of crap?

How do you know it's full of crap?

To someone from the FIRE or the league says differently then it's 50,400.

When his contract was up for renewal, someone from the Fire FO said that the number was crap. Said he was one of the highest paid players.

Then why don't they just say how much it is or was since he no longer plays for us.

Why do I have to ask? Why can't they just say what his salary would of been or is?

Because it's irrelevant to moving the club forward and improving the team?

No it's not, it would nice to see who's telling the truth.

Why do you know how much it was for? If so then tell us.

All it says is that he's one of the highest player on the team, prove it a post a number.

I could post a number and it wouldn't prove anything.

Agreed, but Gargan is perfectly serviceable at RB. Anibaba, not so much.

Edit: Although an upgrade would be nice. Phillip Lahm would be nice. He can play both right back and left back (even though he is right footed).
Yeah, I know that will never happen.

    Second choice: Darijo Srna

The Grazzini salary situation is similar to Chaves and Puerari. They were also listed as making about 50k. That number was wrong. When I was writing about the Fire, I was told those weren't the actual salaries but never received a specific number.

Here is the Player Union talking about why they publish the numbers and other things with Tom Dummore and Peter Wilt.

One thing he says, is that the Union number does not include any transfer fees or the league wide salary fee (Some % MLS LLC charges all teams to pay the salary)

So the number in the salary list will not always match that on the MLS Salary Cap number.

Another example would be Coren Bone (Addidas player) his salary on the PU list is higher than the number MLS would assign to him for CAP reasons.

If that's the case, then our salary cap number is wrong. I bet the other teams would like to know why we are reporting 50K, when as you guys are saying he's making what 150,200 or 250k.

Whatever the case since you bunge or the FIRE or the league aren't going to give that number I am done with this argument.

For you bunge or Tobin, since you guys have some inside information. If for some reason we don't resign players like Alex, MacDonald, or Oduro etc, is there any chance once Grazzini's loan is over that he returns to the FIRE or is this that it Grazzini in a FIRE uniform.

Is Grazzini a memebr of the Player Union? If he is then his number is right.

Now what could be and I remember us talking about this before is that Grazzini could have a 3rd Party contract.

Meaning MLS LLC pays an amount to a 3rd Party agent, then that Agent would keep a % and pay Grazzini part of that amount (say 50%-50%).

So the Cap Hit for Grazzini could be 100K+ but the Union salary would only list him as 50K.

Well the league does not talk salaries, so asking the FIRE or MLS HQ would be a waste of time in my opinion, they will not say.

As I said above the reason on why the 2 numbers (Union vs League) are different it would be 1 a Transfer fee MLS had to pay to get him in the league and 2 perhaps Grazzini has a 3rd party contract so Grazzini reported Union salary is just a % of the salary the 3rd party gets from the league.
