Will LKH and the other army goers still be in the team?

yes, I think they still will be on the team for the Club World Cup.

It will be very interesting to watch how Ulsan's 철퇴 football fares out against tougher opponents.

Do you guys really think, assuming they beat Monterrey, that they will have a chance against Chelsea?

The only team I know that stood a chance was when FC Seoul faced Manchester United in 2009 (or 2008?) and ended 3-2. Dejan Damjanovic got a brace.

Depends on how seriously Chelsea takes the competition but i would say probably not...Chelsea would kill Ulsan's defense. I could imagine Eden Hazard running circles around them. Ulsan scoring a goal wouldn't surprise me though.

Hope they win the entire thing and get army exemption. I'm worried our national team members' forms will decline in a K2 team.

I don't believe you get exemption from winning the Club World Cup

You don't but i really don't wanna see players like Lee Keun Ho and Kwak Tae Whi in waste away in the k2. World Cup is not too far away and it'll probably will be their last chance to play in one. If Ulsan beat Chealsea, it would make headlines and maybe the army would arrange for something.

Nope. There seems to be yet another revival of the military exemption/deferrment discussion, but you have to understand that there isn't one rule for football and another rule for every other sport.

im sure itll turn many heads when headlines read Ulsan beats Chelsea but we haven't even played Monterrey yet. lets discuss the match against Monterrey first and if we beat them, then talk about the Chelsea match.

Does the jleague get to field a team just because they're the hosts?

Benitez won the damned thing with Inter, trouncing Seongnam on the way. Need to do better than that this time.

Seongnam also tried to break the legs of every Inter player on the pitch.

Pohang played a pretty physical game against Estudiantes as well.

Oh and that was when I still considered Hong Chul the future. lolololol.

Korean teams generally do okay against Mexican clubs...probably peers but Koreans seem to have the small edge over the Mexicans in this tournament.

But Ulsan are going to get their ass whooped by Chelsea...even if it's Rafa Benitez as their gaffer.

My money's on Ulsan to reach the semis.

Feel free to drop by the FIFA forum Ulsan-Monterrey Match Thread for a more general discussion on Ulsan's CWC campaign.

As expected Keun-ho 찡, Lee Jae-seong and Lee Ho gets the permission to postpone their enlistment to 17th and participate in CWC.
