Georgetown had a shot at the buzzer. Would have counted too if it went in. Overtime in Hoover, Alabama!
The short answer is they play such a condensed season with lots of games in a short time and only 9.9 scholarships so they need to emphasize the depth.
Wow What a game alot of skill, but you can't tell me the multiple subs didn't impact this game. Maryland rotating 6 players in all playing over 156 minutes to Georgetown's 3 with 52. Georgetown was playing so scared that thei backline would just drop to the 18 and give MD no problems getting to the top of the box. Georgetown better end this early of MD will just wear them down again.
If this one goes to penalties it could end up 20-19 or something crazy likely that. I wonder how the keepers are TAKING penalties??
Right about now John Hackworth is trying to figure out how Philly can finagle homegrown rights to Steve Neumann.
Tomas Gomez looks like he could be Joe Cannon's son. Also, it's both good and bad that MLS has been around long enough that we don't say someone looks like a veteran MLS player's brother but instead, his son.
Wiese cool and calm as a cucumber while Sasho is barking at the refs and getting a yellow. I think that portends well for the Hoyas in PKs. For the second time in 2 years, an epic College Cup game goes to PKs. Great game that I'd rather not see end like this but at the same time but at the same time, it's kind of fitting.
