Best option I've found for staying within walking distance from the stadium is the Days Inn up the street. It's no-frills, but pretty clean and relatively cheap. There's also a liquor store kitty-corner.

Their fanbase is like most others--mostly cool, but their SGs have a handful of hoolie wannabes. Probably won't be too much trouble, but they got into it with some LBR guys the first year I went. I wouldn't recommend going to their tailgate for that reason, but within the stadium everyone's usually pretty chill.

Also, the bleachers in Buck Shaw are old and tend to rock back and forth while you're standing on them. If you've had a bit to drink, this can ******** with your balance a little bit. Not that I'm speaking from personal experience or anything.

Of course not. And I certainly wouldn't have any problems, as I only drink tea while watching soccer. ;)

I haven't heard of anyone formally traveling to San Jose for next weekend's game. I coordinate the away fan's section if a group is making it out. Please email me ASAP if you were planning to make the trip so I can let you know the best option for getting your seats in Section A.

And the bleachers have been fixed and the beer and wine selection doubled from last year...

    Good luck versus KC,

Thanks for your help, Anthony! But…did you guys only have three beers before the selection doubled, or was I missing the secret stand where the bigger selection was? I only saw two varieties each of Sierra Nevada, Gordon Biersch and Bud. The S.N. Torpedo did the trick for me, mind, I was just expecting a few more choices after reading this comment.

The various food trucks in the venue were a nice touch — offered variety and made for a good in-stadium dinner. Definitely a big improvement on the standard stadium fare.

Also, I can't compare it to previous years, but a few of us in section A were still a little dubious of the bleachers' stability. They weren't super-shaky, but wobbled enough to make some folks nervous.

All and all a good trip despite the unpleasant result. Met some nice Earthquake supporters at The Hut after, but didn't care much for the halfwits who kept shouting "RED CARD!" at us on the way to the train. And at the station. And on the train. Yeah, it got old.

Anyone hitting Seattle? I've only seen RSL play there once, and it wasn't for a match against Seattle… :-D

We'll be at the Seattle match in mid-July, but not the first one.

We don't play at Seattle in mid-July. That game's been moved to Oct 17 so Seattle can Chelsea in a friendly.

Who Chelsea in a friendly? Typically I prefer Liverpooling in a friendly, helps for quicker recovery :)

Looking at going with one of the SGs or anybody else taking a bus to Denver in early August. For those who have done that, how much has it typically cost?

This is amazingly depressing. My kids are going to be at camp, Mrs. Ismitje and I planned a trip to Seattle for three days around the game, and it was going to be fantastic. A friendly against Chelsea blows.

Now I am mad at you for delivering the news. And I will use this new smiley:

Now that I know these new forums have a Lenhart :poop: smiley, they suddenly feel nice.

send royal army a message on fb. I think it typically runs in the 50-100/person range for the trip.

It looks like I'll be going to the Chivas game on June 16th. I'm excited, mostly because that will mean 3 RSL games in a week, against all California teams, no less. Fun times!

As will I. Does anybody here know anything about the games at chivas? Away Section? or anything like that. I did go to the Galaxy earlier this year, is everything pretty much the same?

I purchased tickets for the Chivas game today. I talked to a guy name Paris, his direct line is 3106304568. The away supporter section is section 115.

I know a bus has been in discussion. I'm not sure on the costs yet, we'll know in the next few weeks. Keep an eye on the attached thread. I will keep that updated with Royal Army news.

Are you sure that's a Lenhart smiley? I'm pretty sure that is the new replacement for the cRapids. Now we don't actually have to type cRapids we can just post this :poop: and everyone will know what we are talking about.

In your defense, most people usually don't think much about cRap
